Disclaimer: I received this for free but am doing my best to review fairly here. It's well worth 2 dollars even just for the music alone.
If you're a fan of RPGMaker games, and games like Pokemon, Earthbound, LoZ, maybe even Stardew Valley, then this game should be a refreshing yet nostalgic experience. Purgatory explores themes of morality, honesty, self-acceptance and accountability, and is a twist on the classic hero's journey tale with fishing, real-time combat, and adorable characters.
Overall I've enjoyed this game a lot. This game is in development, there are unfinished elements, things are still subject to change and expansion. It's not perfected, but the efforts of 1 person primarily have gone into all of the music and majority of the custom coding on the RPGVXAce engine. I'm excited to see how this develops moving forward!

This game has become it's own experience like Mother or LoZ four swords adventure. It takes RPGMaker into a modern control scheme with dark topics and cute enemies who are mostly your inner demons. I feel like I'm chilling on my old gameboy advance yet here I am slaying eldritch nightmare's for goop in Hell.
To be fair again, still some bugs, story is still in development with lots of lore and more mechanics I'm excited to see! It's an RPGMaker Game but hardly feels like RPGMaker, even the dialogues have emotional prompts that effect the social outcomes. No reason not to check it out now, free demo!
