Strong Undertale vibes and funny dialogue!  Well done on the rhythm-based combat system as well.  It is clear you put a lot of work into the game, especially with the characterization and graphics.  Excellent work overall.

Coolest part for me was how the graphics seemed to get higher fidelity as the game progresses! Music was good.  Mobile controls worked very well and I liked the lenient autotargeting of the boomerang.  It was a little hard to tell which tiles were solid in the overworld due to the low-detail art style.  Overall decent game!

Gotcha.  I will let my brother know he was right! :)

To the organizers:

For this jam, do we need to mimic the visual style of pre-1983 games?  My brother and I came to different conclusions about this when we read the jam description.  He believes we could use modern graphics (including 3D), but I thought that might go against the spirit of the jam.  We would appreciate it if an organizer could clarify this point for us.  Thanks!

A pretty fun but difficult game!  I was unable to kill Steve, but powering up and cutting through the peasants like butter was very satisfying.  The game would benefit from checkpoints or a way for the player to retry the final boss.

Hi! Me and my brother tried your game.  We ran into a couple issues!  Here is our report.

  • In the dungeon to save Geo, we could not figure out how to get through.  Thus we could not make it far enough to give a rating yet.
  • We kept getting stuck on the corner of a moveable block in that Geo dungeon.
  • If you try to leave the Geo dungeon through its entrance, you end up out of bounds in a void.
  • Since the 'exit fullscreen' key and 'open menu' key are the same, we could not open the menu without exiting fullscreen.  After we did this, we could not figure out how to re-enable fullscreen mode!

The game seems fun and promising but we could not make progress in the first dungeon.  Do you have tips to get through?

Same question!  What is the theme?  The Discord link appears to be expired, so I cannot check there.  Edit: found a working link in a different thread of this forum https://discord.gg/D7D94tZK
