Hi, thank you for playing! Dw about the kitchen ahah. To answer your question, everything was made in Picotron (the engine we used), that has an IDE, a spritesheet editor, a map editor and a sfx/music editor all built-in. The only thing we did not make are the instruments, because it's a lot of work and we don't really know anything about sfx and music

The idea is really cool and also I love the art! I think there are some things that could be improved, like something telling you how big your jump is going to be and maybe you could let the player move very slowly when in the water.

(1 edit)

It's so nice to see a game made in Pico-8, we made ours in Picotron! It's a very very cool arcade game. The movement feels nice the art is very cute and the particles behind the floaty and the lines on the water to simulate it moving add a lot to the game (even if they are a small feature).
I got 955 after a couple of tries, however since there doesn't seem to be a max amount of objects thrown in the pool, you can just wait until the time is almost over and capitalize on the combo:

It's very cool, tho I'm not very good, my highscore was 4500.

The art is very cute and has a lot of personality (even the help ui). Also I found your game on a certain slop comment section lol. I played both and yours is infinitely better.

Idk how it fits the theme, however the game is good and the art is very cute. It's also honestly impressive the amount of rooms in the game. Good job!

Incredible game in all aspects!

I liked the game and the aesthetics. My only complaint is the greenlight redlight mechanic that I think needs some polishing. Overall quite cool tho

I think this might be one of the best games I've played in game jams. I couldn't finish it all for now, but since it has saves I'll probably continue playing it one of these days.

Nice visuals, my record was 1900.

Absolutely incredible game, I have nothing to say except that it looks beautiful and the music is also perfect!

Fun little game. I like the implementation of the timer as a pure roguelike thing. My main critic is that I think the UI should be more cohesive (for example using only 1 or 2 fonts that are similar)

Thank you for playing the game! There is a ranged enemy but it spawns after some waves. The game is also 100% playable on controller, as Pico-8 supports it. If it looked like it wasn't registering the inputs, it's probably because of Itch, as it does that very often, regardless of the engine used. Usually reloading the page and/or unplugging the controller and plugging it back works.

Thank you, we made a lot of visual effects on purpose, but I see how they can feel too much

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Thank you, unfortunately we had to improvise a little bit with some things, like the health bar because of time, but we will keep this in mind when finishing to develop the game. Thank you again for the feedback!

Thank you for playing it and for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback, we will continue to develop the game, so we will improve that!

A bit, I used the mouse wheel whenever it was possible, but i guess it's subjective

Nice game, good job! I especially liked the art style and the cutscene at the start and the gameplay was also pretty fun!

I'm trying your game. This is mine: https://itch.io/jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4699384

This is genius! I didn't even know you could do this

It took me a minute to understand how to go up, but very nice game and art style!

Thank you! The lasers are also my favorite event!

Finally a game I can play with a controller! I reached 1000m in Sunset. It does feel very relaxing to just run and dodge obstacles. Initially, while playing I was thinking that having the ability to jump would be neat, but maybe it would leave out the fun of being able to land on top of mushrooms and other obstacles by using ramps and small rocks.

Thank you, it means a lot!

Nice concept! I would have never thought of seeing a game where you use levers to put toppings on pizza but here I am ahahah. My only critic is that the game is a bit slow, but still it was good. Also idk if it was intended but the person speaking sounds like the Trenitalia announcer and I thought it was very funny

Thank you very much! Practice makes perfect!

Very addicting, good job! I would suggest to make a custom pointer instead of the default one to keep track of it more easily

This is the most serious game I've played ahahah. There's something about spinning the gun that is so cool! Great game!

Everything in this game is great! The game feel is top notch! I put 5 stars to everything

I liked the art and music, and also the starting cutscene is a nice adding. Unfortunately I couldn't go past the first level because I didn't understand very well the spiky ball mechanic and its controls.

Nice game! The fact that it's made in assembly for the GameBoy makes it even better!

It's incredible how well polished this game is!

Very cool! We also thought of making a game like Beyblade at the start, but we ended making something very different. I like that you can customize your battle top, my only complaint is that the durability is too important compared to the other stats, but overall I found it very fun! Also the spinning sprites are really well made!

Happy that you liked it!

Thanks! About the gloves minigame it's definitely an issue of the game being top-down and also we likely could have done a better job at making the player understand the objects position.

I lost track of time playing it because it's addicting. Idk what to say other than it's great!

Very cute art!
