I've only gone through the game with keeping my cards to my chest, so i can't speak for exposing her, and i don't remember as far back as the hero meeting. the benefits are (probably) favor with ella, and the other would be exposing ella to H.E.R.O. which would (probably) help them out in killing her. If you do have any questions though the walkthrough could help. it isn't updated past  (spoilers) the sin investigation.
