This is false.

Here's a link to the Pokemon Uranium tweet clarifying that they have NOT received a C&E from Nintendo.

Pokemon Uranium devs took the download links down of their own accord - they hadn't received even a Cease & Desist at this point, let alone a lawsuit. TBF - it may have been correlated to Pokemon sending C&E to a few third-party sites that were hosting Uranium alongside pirated content with less-than child-friendly advertisers. Nintendo's attitude on piracy is well-known, but they actually barely pursue legal action against piracy platforms (beyond telling them to take links down) these days either.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

In regards to Nintendo copyright:

There's precedent for Pokemon fan games (rom-hacks and even a custom framework called Pokemon Essentials people use for RPGMaker XV) as well as Pokemon hentai (look anywhere on the internet). Nintendo obviously has rights to characters/assets/etc but the legality for software is a bit more complicated than "they're using my character! sue them!" (at least in the U.S., idk where creator of this game is, but Itch is in the US)

Generally, Nintendo will sue if someone's directly selling something for money, since the illegality is much more obvious. If this game remains free to download (Patreon notwithstanding) with it's updates, it's just a piece of software like any other Pokemon fan game.

Not to mention there are plenty of adult games out there with Pokemon characters. It's been this way since Day 1 of Newgrounds.com.

Just wanted to clarify this since someone below made a comment about this being some make or break to invest in this game's Patreon, which is pretty stupid. Support the creator if you like the game and want what they're offering, don't if they're not.

TO GIGACHILL: Patreon is probably responsive to cease+desists, so I'd move to SubscribeStar if possible. Regardless of legality/illegality, private companies are assholes, and Patreon has been cracking down on virtually anything it can justify lately. SubscribeStar will probably earn you less money, but it protects you from the risk of suddenly losing all your income. Plenty of creators (IE Selebus, who is a pretty large VN dev) have had this happen to them.

This is a pretty impressive game so props. Hope you keep developing it and do well.

Probably images being compressed or not. Either downscaled or converted to another filetype (webp, etc). Pretty common to do for larger RenPY games with lots of animations like this one.

Hello! I haven't played the game yet (probably going to wait for a sale) but I want to say that I love the artstyle of the game. You guys have this 'uneven-thickness' outline thing going on that gives it a rough-edged, more grounded feeling which seems to work super well with the messages and themes of your game!

The background art is pretty impressive to me too if it was all drawn by y'all - that supermarket shot is wild in that its a bunch of weird vector geometric shapes that still look very cohesively like a supermarket aisle.

The chibi-style art looks super cute too and I want to congratulate you all on having such a consistent and distinctive looking game! I look forward to checking out the writing and other stuff soon.

Absolutely one of the most polished adult VNs I've ever seen. I'm thrilled you guys are getting the time/resources to make this something special. The cinematography is oddly good and the detail of the 3d scenes bring a level of authenticity to the writing that most games don't have the directing skill or the development resources to do. Many of the choices you've made during development (quality > quantity sex scenes, emphasis on line-by-line storytelling and animation, and SOUND DESIGN most of all) make this game stand out amongst its peers. Seriously - keep licensing good music. It's unbelievable how big of a difference it makes for the player experience.

All these things in mind - have you considered getting the game partially voiced? RAVAGER is a good example of a game that's gotten a LOT of benefit from voicework and I think Eternum can in the same way. There's probably ways to do it where some scenes are voiced/some aren't - as voicing the whole script is obviously unreasonable - but it might be a good stretch goal down the line to enhance the "cinema" feel of the game. There are plenty of places online with people willing to do voicework - /r/gonewildaudio is a good starting point to find actors who can do regular and sexual VAing.

Thanks for giving us such an awesome game, people over at Caribdis! And, as an amateur Renpy game maker - thanks for setting a high standard that the rest of us can look up to and learn from!
