No worries, there are no limitations on game engines of choice. I personally use Renpy, but others are creating transformation-based games in different engines which I think is very cool. :)

The game genre does not matter. I believe most people arriving to this game jam will have experience with coding and creating visual novels/narrative-heavy games, but if you know how to make a 2D or 3D games in other genres and that's what you want to make, then you have permission to do so. :) Having fun with your game jam idea is the most important part, and if there's anything you think would be cool to make, then pursue it!

I'm familiar with making 2D assets, both sprite animations, pixel art, and painterly illustrations. I can also assist with historical accuracy and designs if you're interested as well in an editor. If you'd like an extra set of hands to help out, I'm game. :)

Nothing is written in stone for me, because I'd be plenty happy to workshop different IF concepts with people, but my own idea to fall back on in case nothing comes up is working on a story that functions like a more mechanically involved dating simulator. I'd require some help from people who know how to code more confidently than me however. ^^;; I can code and write a standard visual novel well enough, so if people would like assistance writing a visual novel to completion, I'd be happy to join in and work with y'all!
