Oh my.. I'm so sorry for your loss 🫂

I'm very surprised and very happy to know my silly lil game could help someone out in situation like this :3

And you probably shouldn't be sending money to me. Don't worry, I currently have my HRT funded for over a year and a half (and has been on it for 10 months). I am moreso getting the donations "for the future", but most likely I will find a way to continue funding it myself.

Also, feel free to add me on discord @femb0yashy if you ever feel like talking (+ I could help you out with HRT)

Thank you!

I had to make it quit the program instead of just returning to the main menu because of potential problems with the save file. I don't think it's that much of an issue, as you can't really use main menu for anything other than starting a new run, which you can do through the "end run" button.

The fullscreen thing is a bug with the library we're using for graphics (it nukes all fucking target textures for some reason TwT), not with the game per se (though I suppose I should've addressed it myself). Windows version of 2.0 will be using a different graphics backend so the issue will hopefully be fixed.

Sorry, but it's simply not worth it, considering how much work it would take

I am not a dude but thanks :3

If you're talking about making the game moddable, then no. Due to being made in a low-level compiled programming language, it is not moddable "by default" (like original Inscryption which is made with Unity in C#), and making some sort of a mod/plugin system myself from scratch is a big pain in the ass and simply isn't worth it. And I just personally don't really like mods :p

However, if you think your ideas/additions will make the game better for other people, feel free to submit them over on #ideas-and-suggestions channel of FloppyScryption Discord

main menu -> settings -> second tab ("video") -> "turn the squirrels gay"

Those are false positives. I can't really do anything about it, unfortunately. The only solution is buying a code signing certificate, which costs over $100 a year, which I can't afford for a small passion project TwT

I just don't think there is a good way to implement deathcards in the context of Kaycee's Mod. + I would prefer to not have any semi-permanent data that persists across the runs and actually influences the game behaviour.

You just put the Windows executable on a floppy, lol. Maybe also add autorun.inf (I think that's what it's called? I don't use Windows lol), so it starts automatically whenever you insert the floppy. It should be able to run on any version of Windows ranging from Windows XP (personally tested) to Windows 11

Sorry for the late reply, itch for some reason flagged bunch of comments and they weren't shown to me. Yes, there is a big 2.0 update in the works, which plans to add both local on-device multiplayer (kind of like that one mod for Act II), as well as actual networked multiplayer thru Discord activity and/or my website (standard Inscryption PvP stuff like IMF). Estimated release date is autumn 2026.

Sorry for the late reply, itch for some reason flagged bunch of comments and they weren't shown to me. First of all, the only two scrybes with proper gameplay are Leshy (which is already what we have) and P03 (Act III). Second of all, while I could in theory fit the P03 mode on a floppy with a bit of my tranny magic, we do not have the artist on our team anymore, therefore I am simply unable to add new stuff. Third of all, adding more music would require even more space, so I doubt I'll add it. And fourth of all, yes, I am aware of that bug, but for technical reasons I am not able to update the current version of the game, and you would have to wait for 2.0 remake to come out to have that bug fixed (which will come out somewhere in autumn of 2026, hopefully).

Sorry for the late reply, itch for some reason flagged bunch of comments and they weren't shown to me. I theory, it is possible to bring the version requirement down, as OpenGL ES 2.0 (which is what FloppyScryption uses for graphics on Android) was actually available all the way back on Android 2, I just don't have my old ass Android 4.something tablet on me to test it. As for FloppyScryption 2.0, I'm afraid it will take a while for it to come out, as it requires me basically rewriting the game from scratch in a new language. My estimated deadline would be the autumn of 2026, with playtesting builds being available on Discord a bit earlier.

Sorry for the late reply, itch for some reason flagged bunch of comments and they weren't shown to me. The ????? option does nothing with no way to unlock it, it was supposed to be a part of ARG, but due to my ex cutting the development short in a way, I had no time to implement all the ARG content I wanted to, including this option. Really sorry for it being so disappointing. The 2.0 may or may not have some better ARG/lore, though.

Yeah, the Leshy thing is in fact a bug, somehow playtesters have completely missed it. Unfortunately, since I haven't expected the game to be so well received, I kind of didn't maintain the codebase well enough and effectively lost the ability to push updates to it directly, so the bug will only get fixed in a 2.0 - which is effectively a rewrite of FloppyScryption from scratch in another language, which adds A LOT of new features, so it'll take a while to be finished.

Glad you enjoyed the game otherwise tho ^^

👀

Yeah, this will be added in the 2.0 update

Heyy we actually ended up making a game (based on original reddit post, so a 1.44 MB Kaycee's Mod recreation) with your asset pack, thank you so much!  (you were credited, of course ^^)

The game ended up becoming much bigger than we expected, and we would love to have you on the project for work on the big 2.0 update, which would add other Scrybes' cards to KM, a lot of custom content (challenges, achievements, customization), Discord multiplayer and eventually a full separate mode for P03 (based on Act III). If you're interested, hit me up on Discord @femb0yash

The game does have fair hand mechanic. It also has a challenge that disables it. Maybe you turned it on by accident?

No offence, but how am I supposed to fix that? I did not add any malware to the game, therefore I can't just remove it XD

The only "solution" I am aware of is paying for a code signing cettificate, which makes the executable look more trustworthy, but it costs like $200/year, which is not something I can afford for a small indie game almost no one will play anyway.

IIRC, you can just add it to exceptions in your antivirus. Or if you don't trust me, just play it in a VM/emulator, it should run just fine in those thanks to low system requirements.

We have officially created the gayest Inscryption fangame in existence 💅

I obviously cannot recreate the Act II itself, since it is just too big (and wouldn't really bring anything new, because, ya know, the Act II's already pixel art), however, we are currently working on 2.0 update which lets you play with cards from other temples (Undead/Technology/Magicks), which still would be Kaycee's Mod, but way closer to Act II in a way. You can join our Discord so you don't miss it

As I said in the install instructions, it's just false positive detections (because I didn't want to pay $200+ for a certificate). The game does not have any viruses

Those are the effects of joke options "turn the frogs gay" and "turn the squirrels gay", from the video settings. They are not on by default. If you saw them in your game it means you turned this option on yourself, and idk why you're so confused then, what else did you expect when turning them on?

Yeah, just send on discord @femb0yash if you can :3

(Sorry for taking so long to respond, for some reason itch decided to mark your comment as spam and hide it :/)

Edit: couple days ago they sent me the clips, I also managed to obtain totally-not-pirated copy of Inscryption for Switch, and controller support will actually be included (to the best of our abilities) in the 2.0 update on all platforms! (But I must say, some platforms/gamepads do some rather silly shit related to mapping buttons, and we're not yet sure we have universal solution for that)

In theory I could add support for controllers in 2.0, but I'm not entirely sure what exactly the controls could be? I assume it's something more fancy than just controlling the cursor with joystick :p But if you have some reference I'd be glad to implement it

This was actually one of the ideas for the content update, a challenge that replaces the normal bosses with other Scrybes' Act II battles, so most likely it will actually be implemented when I return from break and start working on 2.0 ^^

I did want to make a devlog video at some point, as there is indeed some interesting stuff in the making of this game, but as you can probably see from the joke trailer for this game, I look and sound absolutely horrible, so I'm not 100% sure whether I'll actually film it
