Thanks! I guess the 30 seconds is not enough time for people to make the end game, but to be fair, that is more of my taste, making it hard so you could fail a few times, but when you beat it, it's the best thing ever :)

If you every pick it up and add more enemies, give me a message, I would want to try it out ;)

Thank you for your feedback, exactly what I am looking for, someone to tell me what's wrong! When it comes to the dialogue, I realized that once I started playtesting some of the games in the jam. Not having both things open was a part of the gameplay, as at first I had them opened both at the same time but that felt just too easy, I wanted to challenge the player's brain. Not being able to Ctrl C/V was for the same reason, but you got a strong point about feeling more like the grandma, that would've been actually a better one, but the storyline is that you can't Ctrl C/V due to the notepad being corrupted (it says DoNotDelete.exe when you open the notepad :)).

The UI is really my weakest point in Game Development as I am specialized in programming and wanted to show off more the programming skills but still learn and improve the UI/UX. The leaderboard is my fault, it was initially okay but I had to fix some last-minute bugs and I guess I broke it while doing that. Thanks for sharing also the keyboard issue, never really knew that German keyboards have different commas/dots.

I am also a bit confused whether you liked the game or not :) Many people say it was frustrating but at least a few for sure found it entertaining even though frustrating, is that the same with you? I admit I created the game a bit more towards my taste, which is a bit different than the usual gamer, so I am trying to learn how gamers think. Again, thanks for the feedback and I am glad you managed to beat the game!

Lacking gameplay mechanics, I would also advise you to add an additional UI panel on the side where you could see more info about every single cult member. Another thing I noticed is that sometimes the cult people get hidden behind the selected UI and also sometimes when two cult members are close to one another, its hard to find out which one is currently selected. Overall, I think you could do a bit better, specially with the presentation part as I am not even sure how to win the game. (Don't get discourage from a bad review, bad reviews are there for you to learn and get better, keep the good work!)

(1 edit)

Best one I've played so far! I try to give away some things I didn't like and some things I liked. When it comes to what could've been better, my hands hurt from constantly holding right click (you could do it either a button, or a toggle, but that's not a big thing). I think I reached the final level but I wanted to see if there is an escape menu to change the right click button, and this restarted my game (itch io fault tbh). When it comes to things I liked, I need to write a whole book about that, as everything else is really good. You balanced the mechanics really well and the theme is there, I just wished there were more different enemies (or maybe cameras/areas where you cant hide etc.). I also loved the tutorial levels and I think you should be really proud of what you've achieved :) Keep up the good work!!

I try to give one thing I didn't like and one thing I liked. The thing I didn't like was that it lacked a tutorial or a better description on what's going on. I usually play fps games, so it was a real challenge to understand what's going on. The good thing is that once I did, I started having fun. I love that it is purely mechanical game, but you could work a bit more on the balancing stuff, specially in the early start. The theme is there, I like the story (or how did I get where I am and what's my goal) and overall good job! Keep up the good work!

Glad that I have helped! People tend to say only the good things about the games, so they do not offend anyone, but the whole point of a game jam is to understand what could be improved :)

Cool idea, I try to give at least one thing I liked and one thing I didn't. In your case, I didn't like the fact that some sounds are missing. In this type of games, SFX are contributing a lot to the experience (such as a sound when you hit a correct/incorrect block, perfect score, lose of hp etc.) and I loved the visuals and animations. Another thing that I already saw mentioned is that I am focused only on the grid and do not see the moves of the player (having the grid on the top of the player would somewhat be better in my opinion). I would also make it possible to make an incorrect one (for example, if I have a green one in the middle and for some reason I hit S button before it reaches the middle box, punish the player and make it disappear, so he doesn't get points).

Overall, good work!

In the description I have explained to zoom out you need to hold ALT + W/S (it is also said in the game help menu). If you have time and want to try again, I would love to hear some feedback :)

Probably there is, will have it in mind for the future!

Ah macbook people, sorry that I didn’t think about you guys :( if you have an external keyboard I think it should work! Thank you for the feedback :)

Nice!! Hope you liked the holo-cookies :))

I had to fix some bugs, try now :)

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately the uploads are disabled until the jam is over, but afterwards I will upload a WebGL build! I learned from my mistake to not create a WebGL build in the last 30 minutes of the jam 😁, hopefully the videos are well informing though!

Really strong concept, I love the usage of the theme, the art, the little horrific vibe, the "dreams" that the player gets, it is just perfect! Usually I am trying to give something that I didn't like as a feedback, but I really don't have anything in your case. I assume it is inspired from Five Nights of Freddys, but definitely one of my favorites this jam, keep up the good work and good luck!

Good one, I can see how you applied the theme and the idea is really amazing. The art is really well thought over and matches the vibe of the game. Keep up the good work and good luck in the jam :)

Amazing concept, best one so far. You have than an outstanding job when it comes down to mechanics, I love the chosen sounds and visuals, and the usage of theme is really thought over, unlike most of the games I played during this jam. If I would give you one advice, I would say to spend more time balancing the game and maybe include a tutorial, which lasers how much damage make. Keep up the good work and good luck with the jam :)

I see that the comments already tell you the good stuff and I completely agree. One takeaway for me here is the usage of the theme, which lacks in my opinion. That doesn't change the fact that the game is fun and visually you have done an outstanding job, but I think that in game jams, the usage of the theme should have way more priority. Keep up the good work :)

Very interesting game, I love the art, the game loop and the concept in general. I suppose the theme is applied with the ordinary day cycle - wake up, cook, eat, work, which is good enough for me :)

You have done also an outstanding job to guide the player of what he needs to do. I got a bit confused with the portal though and I haven't had time to play it a bit more and explore past the 15th day, but I might come back to it later as it was really engaging!

Oh that is unfortunate, from what I could find in the web, the error should be from your end. We wanted to upload it as a WebGL but the process took too long as it was near deadline, which is a mistake we will learn from.

Anyways, thank you for your kind words, we had some different ideas which required the map to be bigger, but we dropped them off few days before the submission :)

I am not sure how the game fits the theme, but I had fun playing the game and the art is really good. Keep up the good work and my only advise would be to improve your usage of the theme :)

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it! I am really happy that you liked it, it took me 3 hours to beat the game, so it's possible haha :)

Cool game, fits the theme very well and reminds me of the old flash games. I love the sounds too!

I love the game, definitely one of the best I have seen so far! Art-style, sounds, gameplay everything fits well!

Really nice game, I love the idea and the chosen sounds and art!

Rate Spoiled by ApooBG for DISCORD JAM #8 - itch.io Done, try to beat my game :) Use ESC to read the controls and the goal, good luck haha

I love your introduction, unfortunately kids nowadays wouldn't understand that haha, great work though!

Unfortunately the time cut me off but I had to focus on that more! Thanks for the feedback :)

Yea the movement is a bit weird haha, do you use the sprint button (shift) because in my opinion the movement speed is good enough? Also decaying makes you slower, so make sure to be in good form :) Thank you for your feedback, appreciate it!

Thank you, I appreciate your feedback :)

The game is really hard yeah, didn't get the chance to find the best values for movement. It took me 2-3 hours to beat the game myself :D

Yea, didn't have time to fix the camera but when I playtested it I found that it's even better that way, making it more challenging haha. Thanks for the feedback, also all the instructions can be read when you click "ESC" :)
