Hard to get into but felt really rewarding when you did, even though i didnt complete it (because of lag problems) probably one of the jam games i put the most time into. Only problem i noticed was that sometimes there where just random explosions happening, but I probably just didnt understand a game mechanic. Probably gonna try to beat the game when im on a better computer again.
Yeah the scoring is definitly inspired by Balatro, we thought it was an interesting idea to combine balatro-esque point system with something like an action game. I totally agree on the pacing its definitly the biggest problem we noticed during playtesting, if we update the game, finding a way to make early game more interesting is definitly one of the most important things.
Also the game is made in Gamemaker, making a full game in 4 days in c++ is way beyond my programming skills ( :
Really fun interpretation of the theme and a really polished game in general. I especally like the art and audio direction it reminds me a bit of the old rayman raving rabbid games ( especally RRR2). The only critique i have is that it feels a bit repetitive after some time mostly because there isnt really a goal your working on(maybe i just quit to early to see it but i dont think there is).
