Re-playing this after some time, but ths time I am having some issues and not sure if it is a bug. I've just been to the roof, everything went dark and I had to go elsewhere (conscious I don’t want to give spoilers), I am down underground and there is a small train with one of those weird controllers on it, but the game has gone very laggy and I cannot seem to do anything with the controller on the train

initially i wasnt enjoying this game but now I have got really into it, so much so i am near the end, but i am stuck and unsure how to progress.
I have 2 quests on my log.
Disrupt the Directors Attack
Talk with Mia with regards disrupting the shadows
this 2nd one is throwing me, everytime i talk to Mia and we go to the city, she is spotted by a shadow and we run away and go back to the hut, I cannot see a way of progressing further in the game, can anyone advise please?
