That's a fair. At that point in the story, it's neither specified if you as the MC are telling the truth or are joking. My plan was to take it further in another episode where it becomes clear, should you choose that.
But I can see how this may have left you a bit confused yourself at this point. I will think about possibly rewriting this part a little in a future update.
