You don't have to go up to the signs, just as long as you can see them look at them. Each sign has a number and a little triangle symbol.# is combo number, triangle is combo order. 3 signs in ball pit 1 sign in room above.

I really hope this game gets updated with more content, I love losing them and scrambling to get them back ^^.
