Sorry, but AmigaOS web browsers don't support this heavy page. Moreover, Amiga users expect a fast and sleek FTP service to instantly download our files without having to rely on a slow and resource heavy web server. Finally LhA has been our standard file format for decades. Also by uploading new AmigaOS software to Aminet everything is immediately available to the Amiga communities since most small web sites for Amiga users automatically show everything uploaded to Aminet day by day. Aminet has been and continues to be the main file service for AmigaOS users all around the world.

"zip"? Why do you refuse to provide the game in a standard LhA archive and upload it to Aminet, so all Amiga users are able to download it and try it out?

No AmigaOS support no purchase.

Sorry? Why wouldn't it be a standard DOS disk? Then how are we supposed to install it on our hard drives?

Sorry, that doesn't make any sense at all. LhA is a file format, not a floppy format. Having to download the image to your Amiga, then extract it to a floppy and finally be able to read the files is just like going across the river for water. A standard LhA archive has been the standard way of distributing files for decades - they are tiny, efficient and super fast to use.

"ADF"? "ZIP"? Why do refuse to provide this in a standard LhA archive and upload it to Aminet so that every AmigaOS user can download it?

Thanks, appreciate it.

Why not upload this to Aminet so every AmigaOS user can download and enjoy it?

Sorry to hear that. Aminet is the largest AmigaOS site in the world with mirrors on all continents. Not only does it allow downloads using its web interface, but also using anonymous FTP - a huge boon for any AmigaOS user.

Why do you refuse to upload this in a standard AmigaOS LhA archive so every can download and enjoy it?

Why do you refuse to release this on Aminet so all AmigaOS users can download and enjoy the game..?

Wow, that was fast. I clearly misjudged you. I apologize, and hope that the demo will be well received. Again, thank you.

Fair enough, and thank you for your reply. I'll make sure to look for the demo once it's available. Thank you in advance.

Why do you refuse to upload this to Aminet so every AmigaOS user can download and enjoy it?

Thank you for clarifying - all of what you are saying sounds good. Best of luck with the development and the road to the first public, non-beta release.

Why do you refuse to upload it to Aminet in a standard LhA archive so every AmigaOS user can download and try it?

Thank you very much for considering it. Most Amiga sites show Aminet's most recently uploaded files, so you should get the message out easier. Best od luck with the project!

Nice, but why do you refuse to upload a standard LhA archive to Aminet so every AmigaOS user can try it out?

I wish I could say this is a great game, but I can't. Why do you refuse to provide it in a standard LhA archive and upload it to Aminet so every AmigaOS user can try it out and hopefully enjoy it..? 😐

Really sorry to hear about that. It held promise 😑. Itch doesn't even offer ftp 😐.

Very impressive -  but why do you refuse to upload this to Aminet, so all AmigaOS users  can actually discover, download and enjoy it..?

Wait what? You actually built a version for the C128?! Sweet Christmas! 😮 Thank you so much - I'll definitely check it out and tell the community members about it! 😮

Itch.io's web server prevents Amiga browsers from accessing the site. Aminet, om the other hand, does not. Unlike itch.io, Aminet also offers standard anonymous FTP downloading. Finally, Aminet's recently added files are mirrored across its various servers around then globe, and also automatically displayed on news sites like Amigaworld.net and Amigas.net, just to name a few.

Supporting Aminet is, and should be, a no-brainer for any Amiga user.

Why do you refuse to release this on Aminet so everyone can download it?

Thank you very much for even considering it - I'm of course not talking anything for granted, but very much crossing my fingers! 👍 Perhaps Copilot, Gemini or ChatGPT can give some additional help on how to assemble the code for the C128. Hoping for the best! ❤️

Wow! 😮 This is mind blowing! Of all the games you could have picked from, you chose H.E.R.O.!👍 Any chance you'll please consider building a native version for the Commodore 128, too? It doesn't have to have any extra features or anything - just being able to start H.E.R.O. straight from the C128 natively would be a massive feature all in itself - and a huge gesture of goodwill to the C128 community and its humble little library of games ❤️.

Excellent. Aminet offers standard FTP downloads. Unfortunately, the bloated HTML code that Itch.io used doesn't lend itself well to most Amiga web browsers, like Ibrowse. That's why supporting Aminet and its FTP service is crucial.

Nice - maybe. Why do you refuse to provide the game in a standard AmigaOS LhA archive? Why isn't the game available for every Amiga user straight from Aminet, so everyone can enjoy it?

Sorry, but how is that supposed to render on 2-bit screen modes?

Sorry, I can't download it here. That's why I'm asking for a BBS. It's impossible to download straight to our C64 and C128 systems from itch.io - and that's why we need an official release on an online BBS.

Nice, but from what online BBS can we officially download this from straight to our C64/C128 systems?

Excellent! Please see this Lemon64 thread for a list of online BBS systems - I'd suggest getting in touch with Particles BBS.

Fair enough. Here's a tutorial for using LhA:

About how to upload files to the world's largest Amiga file repository, here are the official step-by-step instructions (please note that they include using FTP):

https://wiki.aminet.net/Uploading_instructions

Here's the point. Amiga users rely on FTP for file downloading and Aminet for distribution.

Why do you refuse to release this in a standard LhA archive on Aminet so everyone can enjoy it?

Of course, which is why a demo would be a great way to gain some traction among real Commodore 64 and Commodore 128 users. There are plenty of big Commodore BBS systems connected to the internet. Most of them support Punter or X-Modem, so downloading to your Commodore setup is really easy.

But this isn't an online BBS we can download the game straight to our C64/C128 systems from 🫤. That's why I asked where we can expect to officially find it, seeing there are quite a few online BBS boards out there.

Incredible! 😮 From what official online BBS can we download this from straight to our C64/C128 systems, so everyone can enjoy it and try it out??
