Wow this is really interesting! It has great bones and moves in really unexpected ways that made it enjoyable for me. At times it feels a little naked, which isn't necessarily bad, but it could be more intentional. Maybe thickening up the orchestration in some places could help.

Yeah great work! It has that lost but content vibe you describe on your project page. Something alien about the instrumentation keeps me engaged, but the tone is very peaceful and curious, would be great for exploration. Would've liked it to develop a little more, maybe a B section of some kind, but it would probably be fine as a track on it's own in the context of a full soundtrack too.

Cool track! I like the instrumentation and sense of place you create. I agree with others that it's a little redundant, but I think there's probably a way to spin that into an asset given the deep house objective. More dynamics, more harmony, or something like that to define the composition a little better. There's some pretty cool compound rhythms happening throughout that you could emphasize to that end!

Awesome! You've got great ideas popping up throughout the whole piece.  I like the instrumentation throughout and your focus on the orchestra. Discovering the Unknown was my favorite listen. Some instruments came in a bit suddenly for my taste. Overall great work!

I'm a big fan of this, but I'm not sure how to describe what I like about it haha. It feels a little naked at times and I do think I have some trouble imagining it being used as an OST, but it's really cool to listen to and paints this dark tense feeling that keeps me locked in. Lots of rich sound design detail to listen to.

Woow this is awesome! I love your sound design, there's all sorts of interesting layers to focus on. Great Decent is my favorite track, but the whole thing is a banger. I think I agree with others that it sounds a little harsh at times, but maybe that's because I'm cranking it too loud XD Nice job!!

This is great music! Reminds me of Explosions in the Sky. It's really calm and slow to build but also demands attention and kept me engaged the whole way through. Nice work!

Yeah this is dope. Really clean mix I hear just the right amount of everything and it almost makes you forget how much is layered in. Composition is pretty steady as she goes but doesn't feel redundant. I think the evolving instrumentation helps to keep it interesting. I can imagine it blending really nicely into gameplay. The only bit that stuck out a little much for me was the synth around 5:35 in, but could be fine in the right context.

Irene nooo DX haha I love this, really was feeling the emotional arc of it all. I like how track 4 feels more action gameplay oriented than the others, just like you described. And the inclusion of the first 3 more cinematic tracks really anchored me into it. Really like this one, great work!

Wow lot of personality in this one! I hear all the references you mentioned but there's a clear unique voice to it too. I love the sub genre and how you still made it feel spacey despite the acoustic earthy elements. Really nice performances on the solo instruments too. I felt some of the sound design was a little harsh at times, not innately a bad thing but a little distracting. Really enjoyable overall!

I like it! Overall great mood, matches the theme very well. I may be listening to too many of these ambient floating tracks back to back, but for me it became a little tired and need something to pull me back into it.

Wow great mellow vibe, putting this on later to help me sleep haha. I think the track could have a little more punctuation without losing the floating/drifting aesthetic. Actually, viewing it with the piano roll gives the whole thing an animated quality. I can imagine it syncing well with a game, dynamic scenery etc.

This is awesome, very unique! I love how the 5/4 feel with the chords drags you along while the faster rhythms push you along. It has a dark tone but also feels bright at times. Would love to hear a full soundtrack/different moods in this vein.

Nice work! I'm enjoying the vibe and t suits the theme very well. SSTC2D J033038.2303212 is my favorite track. I think the some of the melody's could sound a little more sure of themselves. There is kind of a wandering character to some of the lines that seems a little haphazard.

This is a cool piece! It has interesting form and great storytelling, almost operatic. I think some of the sounds felt slightly out of place. It's okay to be abrupt, but everything could still gel together a little better in the mix, maybe some EQ or reverb.

(1 edit)

Nice! A really enjoyable listen and great background for a game. I think it's tricky to make droney music engaging. I feel you're most of the way there, but you could do one or two more things to really inject some personality into it.

Yoo nice work, gefräßigkeit is a really cool track. Would make for killer boss music. Can't wait to hear the rest, definitely post when you're finished!

So cool! Composition for both track kept me on the edge of my seat. Was upset when choral ended haha I wanted to hear the rest. Really love the dissonance in finished track, and how you climb back out of it. The only critical thing I can think to say is I wish there was more of it!

Most of Reaper's stock plugins are an enigma to me, including ReaFIR. Definitely checking it out after this!

Heeey this is amazing!! A real journey to listen through the whole thing, very nice story telling in the music! I can tell you really used concept y'all wrote out. Some of my favorite moments are the intro transition into the main theme and how it comes back in the final track. The arc build toward the climax of Sailing on Stardust Trails around 6:20 really felt good too.

Any criticism is splitting hairs, but a couple things came to mind (during my 2nd or 3rd listen haha). At times it didn't feel so space-y, but I think that's subjective and probably ultimately works to your benefit. The violin in  work on the violin in track 6 got a little tiring for my ears, but it works well in the final track so maybe it just needed a little more support or mixing to get it situated.

Overall really great work and very entertaining to listen too. NICE WORK!! :)

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for listening!

Nice to hear your impression of it. Thanks so much for the thoughtful review!

I think it's probably better than you think it is! I really liked both tracks. Track one seemed slightly more complete, but maybe a little less space-y than track two... Tho the differences give more dimension to the "story". If I had to nit-pick I might say you leaned a little too much on the arpeggios in track two and could outline/support your melodies there a little more intentionally.

This one is my favorite so far! I can really hear all the references to the plot you described in the music. The textures and sounds tie in nicely to that emotion and it helps a lot with the world building. Mostly dark and moody, would love to hear it developed out through the rest of the plot.

This is awesome! Striking a real nice balance between ambient and danceable. If anything maybe a little too deliberate/slow to evolve, but I think that's part of why it works too.  I could listen to this for hours while gaming without getting tired of it.

Nice work! I like the mood you're creating, it suits the painting! I think you could've taken it a little further tho, it felt a little single tracked and more dynamics or additional parts could breathe more life into it

Good one! All three songs gel together really nicely. I think the writing is solid I like track 3 a lot. There was a couple muddy sounds I wanted to be mixed in a little better and all of it could be a little more dynamic in volume/intensity

Thanks that's good feedback! I thought the sparseness might lend itself to the theme, but I do think I could've focused more on layering in atmosphere.

Thanks for that feedback! I like the "swallowing the listener" comment, I could've spent more time layering in atmosphere. I think I'm due for a little self learning on FM sounds (beyond what've I learned doodling). Have any fm resources/artist recs/synthesis tips for an amateur?
