That’s good to hear. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. 😊

Hey, to compensate for the lack of bloodthirsty animals in the non-aggressive mode, maybe you could make weather or the terrain more dangerous or hard to traverse.

(P.S. It turns out the Our Land prototype is fun. I’d recommend trying it.)

I noticed you are planning on adding hostile animals to MewnBase. If you do, could you add a mode where animals aren’t aggressive and hurting animals isn’t possible or required? Harming animals, especially native fauna in a colonial game, makes me feel uncomfortable.

Maybe there could still be alternative interactions with animals. Working with native animals could make surveying easier or maybe they could give you gifts if you gain their trust or studying their behavior could lead to a hidden resource. The player could even be rewarded for helping the environment – like returning an ecosystem to its previous ecology could increase spawning of resources. I haven’t played it yet, but I just found this game Our Land which looks like it might offer inspiration.

I realize this is probably a significant shift in a feature you’ve been developing, but it could be beneficial. Offering ecofriendly options would set you apart among survival games and maybe even unique among colonial games. And, as it is, if violence against animals becomes a necessary or central mechanic in MewnBase, I’ll probably no longer be interested in playing it.
