Thank you SO much for this feedback, genuinely! I am super new to game development and definitely don't know all the ends and outs yet and was not aware of that being the proper definition of a vertical slice. I'll edit the project page when I get an opportunity to accurately reflect the state of the prototype. My intent was to show pieces of all main systems, which I think I've done, but I absolutely agree, this is not fully polished, and my systems are not interlocked yet. While that had been my intent for the jam, I did not get there.

The "reel-in" button, as currently intended, should switch randomly between 3 text variants, but I noticed in testing sometimes the same one will come up multiple times in a row, so I'll have to look into that.

The day number counter in the top left should be going up by 1 on each new daytime, but otherwise, you're correct nothing currently updates on new days.

Do you mean the Notebook icon on the top right? (There isn't currently an inventory.) If so, I plan to make it clickable in a future update, with a simple hover animation. For this version, the Notebook can be toggled opened and closed with B or Tab. But it doesn't show much yet.

I really apologize for the frustrating experience. Thank you again for taking the time to give me some feedback! I promise to take it into account moving forward.

Hey, as far as I can tell, I've got it working now! There are now web, Windows, and Linux versions, all tested working by at least one person. So sorry about the delay, thank you so much again for letting me know! :)

Oh no, I wasn't aware it was having issues. Let me see if I can get that fixed and reuploaded ASAP. Thank you so much for letting me know!

Hi there! This is my first time rating and commenting on Itch.io, as this is my first game jam, so forgive me if I'm not as practiced at it! Please let me know if there's any other feedback that may be helpful for you!

Some gentle critiques: I had to re-play a few times to understand what I was supposed to be doing. At first I couldn't find where I was supposed to get batteries from, then I organically noticed the Shop. The player positioning to start the fishing scene felt finicky to me, so I had missed it a couple times, but that may be a me thing?

Some positive notes!: I liked the graphics a lot! Everything felt very cohesive, with a notable dark, tense mood. The readable signs hanging on the gate-thing, along with the note in the other area that referenced those notes? Chef's kiss to all of that. I loved those lore details. The eerie, creepy feeling of being watched and jumped at... I thought the tone of the game as a whole was really solid!

It took me a while to get the hang of fishing, as I don't have a controller and wasn't sure what M2 is, but I did figure the input out, and with some grinding, I probably could get the key -- I haven't done that yet though.

Thanks for the fun, good job!
