I'd argue that ALL real violence goes too far unless you're looking at it from a "wanna stay fun with it" perspective, but I'm probably coming from a different life experience than you.

If you think you could take every product that comes out of this jam and proudly display it to every victim's family as a respectful exploration of their suffering, you're being wildly optimistic. Even you are limiting topics that even "safe spaces" for the topic don't in order to make it palatable to advertisers on YouTube. It's so detached from empathy and so many people don't even seem to realize it that it's just... really unfortunate.

Only "some" of the cases go too far? You don't seem to have thought any of this out very far.

Not to be mean, but it's likely that you are going to traumatize yourself with some of the entries you might get. I find horror fascinating, but this twee attitude towards the subject coupled with a cash prize is going to attract some disturbed people, not to mention the ones that fetishize it.
