to start off, my critique:

  • i found this game enjoyable until the area with the double booster pitfall area (early in the red section) as it felt waaaaaaaaaaaaay too punishing for the slightest mistake sent you not only back to the start, but a whole ~10-15s back in the level, and with how easy it is to fail that section, that little amount of time quickly adds up.
  • also it was really annoying how there was some jump pads which extended way up high without any way to see up where they go before the jump, as this resulted on me losing a lot of progress twice (all the way back to the start once, and once right after i managed to beat the crazy hard red section). I'd have greatly appreciated if there was some safeguard on these ones to stop you from having this kinda thing happen

what i liked

  • the speed gimmick was nice, and especially with how high speeds allowed you to break walls (tho there wasnt much attention brought to it initially, i still figured it out after a few minutes playing)
  • the whole retro aesthetic was masterfully done, you could have convinced me that someone made this game back in the day
  • the idea of looping back around through areas is genuinely cool
  • the music is really really cool idk what else to say except that i really enjoyed it :D

really enjoyed this one, was chill but there were some times where it got quite tense - would I make it to the station on time? only real critiques i have are to do with the cards - runs get a lot more RNG dependent the further you go into the run, and you can get really screwed over with the shuffle of the cards; the time it takes for a new card to appear after you use a card takes quite a while as for such a fast paced game; the animation of a new card being drawn flies over the first card and sometimes is clickable. this resulted in a few times where i accidentally grabbed the wrong card and played it before i could notice it was wrong. there is a lack of variety but then again there wasn't much time to add all that much to the game and have it this well polished. i'm very impressed :D

overall i'd say i actually quite enjoyed that :D critiques I have are minor: some of the audio is a bit too loud and having R as the reset button really trolled me a good few times in a game with a sniper xD

good foundation for a game :)

cool idea but its suuuuuuuuuuper buggy, like >50% chance to lose at the start without even touching anything kinda buggy. apart from that i like the premise, it kinda reminds me of those games where you need to connect the pipe from the start to the end before the water flows

now this is what the Jam is about. great bad game :D
