Yeah, I agree on your points. Also, with how the promotions of this game has been going on, the protagonist feels very much like a self-insert and it becomes even more obvious after that post about her.

Ultimately, it's super disappointing to see the writers doubling down on the criticism instead of seeing them as feedbacks they can use to improve their writing and the game overall. I honestly have doubts that all these comments will help them improve seeing how they have disregarded the feedbacks from their beta testers.

After reading their newest post about the protagonist being neurodivergent, I think 'show, don't tell' is what they fail to do in characterising the protagonist.

They repeatedly tried to convince us that Jane is a competent heroine and that seeing her as flawed is somehow the player's fault for not understanding their writing. When the reality is that the writer has failed to portray her as someone with unique intelligence and adaptability.

One shouldn't have to repeatedly hammer a point down on the player's head to send it across, especially when other characters made those points using expositions. We don't see the protagonist being good at what she does, we only see other characters praising her for something she has not displayed any sign of having.
