late comment on this but i appreciate this so much!!! i was a wheelchair user for a few months last year but my doctors very much wanted me out of 'it' and i didn't have much choice. One of my favourite things (beyond being able to go places not in agonizing pain) was making sure to never adjust my path to move out of the way of an abled person who is walking. The look of horror on their face when they realise im not going to move to accomodate them is great. currently praying local wheelchair companies answer my emails. also!!! highly recommend @sampetercine on insta (you/your) who is creating a fucking epic apocalypse based power chair!!!
