Love the art style, upgrades, controls, etc. Balance might be the only thing off about this. If you were to add anything, I would want to see more variety in the stages, similar to Vampire Survivor. Otherwise- really great.
Really excellent work. This game does a thing that I really enjoy, which is distill a classic game or genre of games down to the basics. Games like this are the haiku of their medium. One of the best kinds of game to find on Pico-8.
The first boss during the second run/loop disappeared, and I wasn't able to hack the terminals. They showed black screens. No boss to kill and no way to win. The level just went on forever.
Multiple times now I have ended up in broken paths where I can't complete the game. You might already be aware of this. (Playing on the Steam demo on Mac)

Just played a Defend level and managed to keep playing after the lil guy was destroyed. Won the level despite failing the objective. Not sure what is going on there.
