Okay I'm kind of in love with this and though it definitely needs polish, it REALLY scratches the itch for me in a way other incremental games don't. I don't usually leave in-depth comments but I really enjoyed this and want to see more, and I don't want the slightly negative comment section to discourage you because I think it's really unique and I can tell you've put some real heart into it. Specifically compared to like YouTube Playables and mobile app cashgrabs that are all soooo formulaic but I keep clicking on them anyway because UGH I'M ADHD AND I NEED SEROTONIN. Anyway my point is that this is way better lmao.
What I Liked:
- Whatever the heck the movement and walking animation of the little guy is, I find it hilariously charming and I have no idea if it's intentional or not but I love it
- Causing the fishing rod lines to go spinning into some sort of geometry nightmare made me joyful
- Turtle is friend!!!!
- Clownfish exploding everywhere when I catch 50+ of them at once and my backpack is already almost full
- Catching a ton of fish at once and the coin eruption are both SO satisfying oh my god like genuinely I can't get enough of it
Issues/Suggestions:
- There's definitely a lot of lag when the coin fountain erupts, though for some reason it was more a problem for me in the early stages and wasn't a problem later despite there being way more coins spawning
- The browser version makes my laptop fans run like crazy, though that might just be a side effect of browser vs download (I did not try the download version)
- Pickups were getting stuck on the elevated part of the second island, and even with the increased pickup range upgrade, there's still money tantalizingly out of reach and even just that slight annoyance can make or break a cozy game in my opinion
- EDIT: I just realized after posting this that you can jump LMAO NEVERMIND
- I found myself wishing there was a way to disable the drones, even if only temporarily, once I got to the end of the demo. A lot of the fun for me was trying to catch the max amount of fish at once, or at least clearing out a huge cluster (school?) of them in one go. Once the drones were fully upgraded, they were catching fish so quickly that the fish weren't building up in big numbers in one area anymore, so I wasn't able to get that satisfaction anymore. I get the appeal of the drones adding automation/idle mechanics to the process, but I would really appreciate being able to turn them off as well
Again, overall, I really enjoyed this demo, and I'm looking forward to more! I'm repeating myself a bit here, but to me it's very unique in incremental games and I would hate to see the negativity in the comments deter you from creating stuff like this if you enjoy doing it. Cheers!
