Thanks :) Debating whether or not to push this to a finished state for the sake of listing on steam, and this comment made me consider maybe!

Yo! I wanted to follow the theme and be generous about sharing my project and ideas. Maybe it will inspire someone else? Overall I’m very happy with where the project is headed. This is my first time using Unreal for a game jam; I use Unreal for work, but most of that has been focused on asset imports, textures, and shaders. I am learning Blueprint as I go lol.
The game will be titled: ‘The Murder of King Mere’ Planning for it to be a blend between Disco Elysium, a “tit-for-tat” favor system (with some NPCs being generous), and the aesthetics of the northern regions of Skyrim. Set in a world called “Darkway”, a world that I have been world building for FAR too long.
About the City of Ink: The City of Ink is the furthest city from the Light. Part of the Ancient Kingdom of Salt, the city of Ink is the oldest city on the Isle of Dogs. In years past it was the Capital city of various Empires. The King of Ink is now the diplomatic lead of the Isle, and leads meetings and agreements between city states. King Mere was the King of Ink.
Feedback is appreciated! Let me know what you think, and I’ll make adjustments as necessary. If you’re inspired by something, let me know!
Thanks ReindeerFlo :) I appreciate it.
Initially I had the code set up so that when you collided with something / got a miss it made the ski speed = 0. Makes more sense, but after a few times of missing / crashing it became frustrating. Also my fiancee played it (who is not a gamer) and was avidly against the crash mechanics lol. Maybe if I introduced a slow instead of a crash?
Thanks for playing Flyingrollercoaster! :) And true, I need to make a change to the logic behind the beat. Right now it measures 180 milliseconds BEFORE the beat I'm pretty sure, and only a little bit after (maybe 20 milliseconds?). I need to go back into the code and figure out how to make it 180 milliseconds before and after so it feels better to match the beat.
