The gray-box prototype demonstrates exceptional technical polish, with the Unity scene hierarchy and asset organization reflecting rigorous attention to detail. The camera controls and character movement logic are implemented with clean, efficient code structure, ensuring responsive and intuitive player manipulation. The WebGL build maintains consistent frame rates across different browser environments, showcasing robust optimization practices like draw call batching and texture compression. The overall presentation reflects a deep understanding of both gameplay mechanics and technical performance, fully meeting and exceeding the expectations for Assessment 1.

To further elevate the project, consider integrating a dynamic day-night cycle to alter the forest's lighting ambiance, and implement a simple save-load system to preserve player exploration progress. Adding subtle particle effects for environmental interactions—like rustling leaves or dewdrops—would enhance sensory immersion while maintaining performance efficiency.

I really like the details of your scene! I found that your navigation is easy to use, and the colors and layout you selected are consistent.

On a side note it may be worth setting the menu nav as a different colour to the scene controls, that way when we come to assignment 3 the colour of the scene controls change withthe scene and are different to the navigation bar.

Overall, it is very attractive. I can't wait to discuss the final project!

The educational intention of this game is evident and commendable. By incorporating zebra crossings and hazard avoidance into the gameplay, children can learn road safety principles in an engaging context. The interface is clean and age-appropriate, with large buttons and prominent feedback messages that leave no confusion about the outcome of each attempt. To strengthen the educational impact, a brief instruction screen could be added before the first round, explaining why waiting and watching for cars is important. Adding sound cues for safe crossing versus unsafe actions would also reinforce the learning objectives.
