Hey, Shady Characters - Itch.io has released a statement regarding NSFW games (https://itch.io/updates/update-on-nsfw-content) and the changes that will come forth with it. How may this affect Under Your Spell? Any foreseeable idea on what problems it may make?
I think I first downloaded the build around Dec. or Jan., even comparing the progress from then onwards is really exciting.
While writing for the events for the girls', how are you 'certain' if its right. When Under Your Spell is fully finished, would you revamp previous events- or just dialogue, to fit how you've reimagined their personalities?
So is there a possibility the player would be able to not advance into any of the girls' questline and/or piss them off in any sort that they'd refuse to express their feelings?
I'm just wondering this, as due to the Samhain event, hanging out with Eric is the default option by the looks of it, with the other girls' whom you've progressed in their questlines. This had me thinking, as from what I understand, if a person just rested, they'd be able to completely avoid, or attempt to, advancing into any of their questlines. If one kept this up, what would happen in the end?
I myself find doing Magic Theory every day as being the best for getting knowledge. Usually gives 1 every time. While you can make up for your other stats if you focus on studying with other classes. I myself don't suggest dueling practise or the other classes which give multiple points, as them giving you some aren't guaranteed. I found grinding knowledge makes the exam a breeze and the trial of mind too (especially if animal form is bought), where other stats can be focused on at the expense of knowledge. But that's just how I went with it
Are there any rough ideas for how much further Elisabeth's questline will go for? Since it is roughly an academic year that is the planned playable time iirc, would Elisabeth's, or any other of the potential character's have their relationship build-up draw across until the near-end? The halfway mark?
Generally, how long do you think the average candidate to date would have their interactions drawn for before they date the Main Character? (And when/if such does occur, how much further would their interactions go?)
When the Main Character has a high enough knowledge stat, and aren't tired, they score around the top 3 (5??) for the exams. The Main Character is stated to be just below Percival, meaning he is either first place or second place. My question is, who is the remaining person in the top three? Or rather, which character makes the most sense? Elisabeth is stated to be one of the smartest and most ambitious characters, with her aspiring to head to Athens. While Violet, in every interaction she's in is either with a book, reading a book, or has just finished a book to grab another one. Possibly implying she's very smart/knows a lot. Meaning out of the evidence in game, it'd be either one.
So just wondering.
How many spells are there currently? So far, I've discovered 'Animal Form' (iirc that is the name), and teleportation.
To which, I think I may've discovered a bug, I'm not the most certain. While I was playing through from a fresh start, while studying, or maybe after beastology, the game said animal form was learnt, but when I went to practise spells, the game then talked about teleportation. Not sure if I may've missed a line or two, but I just thought I should note it.
I might be looking into it way too deeply, but how far was the effects of the spell that Eric casted onto the Main Character at the start? The game does repeatedly discuss love spells/potions. Where Eric states that due to the spell, it is why various events have changed, where a student lost something, to the Main Character even becoming the school's Champion. Does that at all imply that the psychology of the students was affected. In capacity? I'd assume not. As Elisabeth states that one of the Professors "compliments" the main character, yet sees them as lost potential. So seemingly that might be evidence that it didn't really effect anything else. Only the circumstances of what has happened to aid the Main Character. Another interesting thing to note is that seemingly, the spell casted by Eric also made some sort of ward around the Main Character, where other similar spells cannot affect him. (Tho' the demo ended right after, so not sure there if there may've been additional dialogue I missed out on.)
It does of course raise some interesting implications and questions. My main one being:
Will the love spell casted by Eric be further explored? Or is its purpose to act as a plot device to get the plot flowing and stopping right there?
