There are animations that are used any time you perform certain actions, and a few unique ones, but for the most part it plays like a graphic novel

It just unlocks access to the dominatrix character, not sure what declining does tho

Use earth potions before you go into the boss fight. They're able to boost you over max health, and two medium potions is enough to tank the fight as long as you're using electric attacks

You need to use potions to heal before you go into the boss fight. You'll only need to heal the element that the enemies deal the most damage to, but I can't remember which one that is off the top of my head
