After I change maps, it completely disappears from my party. Do I have to catch a new one and train it all over again?

my Sceptile disappeared from my party. I noticed I caught a genderless Treeko at lvl 30 and didn't really care about it. I had just leveled it to lvl 36 and evolved it into a Sceptile. I changed maps and saw the Pokemon tab of it as: Button Text. I can't look at it's summary anymore, and it doesn't appear on the title screen. Please help
