Strongly disagree dude.
Of course "good" is quite subjective, but I feel like it's hard to argue the creativity on this one.
Given I've only check out around 70 entries up until this point, this might be a biased take, but I haven't encountered any game which uses the theme in this way, so I would say it's very creative actually...

Loved the Meta game idea. Had some fun with it, and some parts were hitting very close to home with me :D.

Cool concept. Eventually I got stuck so I didn't actually manage to get to the end of it. Also the music was a nice touch to increase the eeriness

Very cool idea! It was a bit hard to keep a look out for the attack timings while also trying to dodge the Boss's attacks, so maybe there is some room to improvement there. Still had a lot of fun tho! :)

very cool idea! The art in this one is on another level, loved the concept of playing different mini-games.

Really cool game, loved the controls of the ship (especially after having strafe). The amount of content you pack in it is crazy, must have been a lot of work. Good job!

Probably it wasn't shown clear enough, but when the timer runs out, you fall asleep, starting the next loop (so I think that's why you "died very suddenly").

I loved the game! Such a great idea, and it is executed to perfection. Very relaxing experience. Also the artstyle is sooo pretty

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback!
Regarding your points:

  • Walljumping:  this was something that we knew was gonna suck :D. I couldn't actually finish it the way I wanted it to behave, so we're definitely going to change it in the update
  • Rocket pickup: that is not the intended way to pick up the rocket upgrade, but I actually find it super cool that you found a way to do it with crouching, so kudos on that! (Also it is intended for it not to be very intuitive how to get to it)
  • Dash cd: This was a conscious design choice, since without a cd you could just abuse it and use it constantly, but having the ability to use it more than once in a run opens up a lot of possibilities with the level design
  • Omnidirectional Dash: This was also a decision, although maybe less conscious. That's how I implemented the dashing from the get go and we just loved the way it felt, also it creates more level design possibilities. You are completely right though on it not being very intuitive, so we're probably going to add some kind of hint, introduction that makes this more clear.
  • Restart option: Honestly, to me this feels like the most important feature that's missing, so thanks for pointing it out. I completely understand your frustrations during the runs and this as well is definitely going to be included in the update!

I'll make sure to let you know, when the updated version is out, so maybe you can have a better experience.

Yes the original idea was a speed running-ish platformer.

Very cool concept, of "programming" the towers. It's quite tricky to complete the waves,  so far i've only gotten through half of it.
