Hey everyone,  IMPORTANT!

Maybe some of you know that we are doing the gamejam differently than normal.

And want to announce that when the voting process is over it is the norm that you then see the results of who the winners are.That is not the case in this jam! We will be making a live showcase(showreel) of every entry in the jam and even the people that did not make it!

The showreel first shows the unranked games, and then the ranked from last to first. 

That will be on 3 August. We will announce when we set the premier of the showreel live on youtube.Like the movie last time when the showreel is over and the first person is showed the results will be online on itch.io 

This was my error and responsibility from last year that i really needed 2 days to make the showreel. Last time we thought that Sunday was presentable. But I keep in mind that it will take longer. So 3 august are the results not on friday!

But after the showreel is finished then the Game Jam is official over :D

The link will be closed at the same time the voting is over. 

 TLDR: 

• You can’t see the submissions after the voting phase
• 3 august is the date we will release the live premiere so everyone can see it live the rankings together

• After the showreel movie that means the game jam is over

Hey everyone DVH here and I'm talking only for myself.

wanted to tell you that i really appreciated the positive feedback for the SKG movie, But i must be honest to you but also to me that i can’t guarantee that there will be a movie every year.

Because in the upcoming year I have less time It doesn't mean that I won't try to make the movie for next year. I will try it. But I don't want to promise something that I maybe can’t deliver. Also if the movie is feasible i will announce that also. But then the is movie is already finished 

This doesn't mean that i will skip the showreel.

That will always be the case on every edition of this game jam, and is for me less work then the movie

Hey everyone the premiere is online and will be playing at 5:45 PM UTC as a pre-event and a BIG thank you for all the contestants last year 

You can now get a reminder if you want to watch the movie, it is not a requirement to see the movie. if you wait for 15 minutes you can see it also on itch.io at the exact time.

Is it a asset Pack you reuse? Or scripts?

Hey everyone we do this year  something different for the showreel rankings. We have witnessed that it took too long to ask you for your own video game footage. We the  organizers can see the submitted games before the deadline  and  play them, so we will recorded them then. so that is us you see when there is activity 

Also another thing we have witnessed that people changed there name around the game jam when submitted, only when i make the name animation for your games it would relieve a lot if you changed your own usernames after or before the game jam. so we can finish the showreel faster.  

And my philosophy still stand that, we record every game that is created of the jam.

So to be clear for new contesters if the voting process is done we make a showreel and make it youtube premier so everyone can see your games live when the showing is busy. So no need to worry when you don't see the results we are busy that you are showed to the rest of the world. And Last year it was a great success because you see games you otherwise wont see  in a jam because there are so many. 

the top 3 gets 35 seconds of screentime and the rest 10 otherwise it will take a too long ranking. but the top 3 get their own special animation of your game.

so TLDR: We record the game footage, you only have to create the game , vote the game and wait that we are done with the showreel! and then the game jam is finished this year :D  we hope you get a great time here!

Also important if your game was not on time for the deadline and you still want to be showed it as a unranked game. DM DVH  on  Discord if this happens I'm the one that creates the showreel! you send me the videogame footage

Hey everyone we Potato Game Dev and DVH  have a big announcement to make!

We will premiere the Theme of the upcoming Game Jam on Youtube. 

When the movie ends in real life at the exact time the theme will be revealed  at UTC 6:00 pm and the game jam begins.

The pre-event starts on the 17th July @ 05h45 PM UTC

At which point the video revealing the theme for the event will be premiered on DVH YouTube channel.

Hey everyone, we know that we have been awfully quiet the last couple of months. 

But we were busy behind the scenes for a big project. We can’t tell you when we announce the secret project but stayed tuned the couple of days on the itch.io forums and the discord. 

We can tell you that the intent of the project is a big thank you for all the people last game jam. Even me “i’m speaking now as DVH” That it also has widened my horizon. And liked the lively and safe vibes in the discord and the itch.io forums .

We, the organizers, want to create a FAQ section. We believe that when the deadline is close and the pressure is too high, you can use the FAQ as a safety net.

We also need your help creating tutorials for your game engines especially the more obscure ones. A big focus is how to make a web version of your game. We’d also like to include anything that wasn’t clear during the Game Jam.
