oh hello! thanks for the great offer. I never expected this game would have a chance to be such an honor, but I deeply appreciate that :)
actually this game is quite buggy because of my poor coding skill at that time and it was made with a rush to be released by Christmas. so sorry about causing the confusion
answering your questions, the main goal of this game is completing 100 random Japanese jokes. the score is added when the players get a new joke which has not appeared yet. when you get the jokes already seen, the score won’t be increasing
the rainbow colored texts are indicating that you get a new joke which is increasing the score. dark texts are supposed to be shown as the jokes you already have found, but as for the coding is a bit messed up and the colors of the texts do not change individually. that means, the most recent status of the joke will be applied to every single text’s color at the same time. this likely happens as many box fall from the sky
hoho or hohoho also suggests that you already have seen that joke before. when you get a new joke, the nice shiny sounds will be played
by the way, I tried to adjust the drop rate each time when the players reached a certain number of scores. but as I could not program it so well, it became really difficult to find a new joke after scoring 90. I wish I could tell you when the drop rate changes for the speedrun but unfortunately its project file is in my dead PC which is at the repair shop right now
anyhow, if there would be some other questions, please feel free to ask! I’m very excited about your challenge and wondering how fast you are going to complete all the jokes. wishing all of your best <3
thanks for all the words! when I started making games, there was an obsession that everything moves fast and smoothly so the players might not get bored. but as I challenged a bunch of game making practices last year, I stepped forward designing experiences in opposite ways this time. so I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed these slow moments! and I still believe my actual fortune is the really good one for 2026 <3
hay thanks! as I tried bunch of different things this time (experimenting with a new engine, drawing animations etc.), I'm very honored to hear you sensed my progression. also appreciate your root for the Indiepocalypse selection, it's been my dream people around there would play Dragon Wasabi games!
oh thank you! its trippy background is one of my most favorite parts in this piece. in Japanese (which is my native language), the flash of memories is called "走馬灯", which literally means "running horse light" and that is my primary source of inspiration. and it's obvious from the title, I'm inspired by Jason Rohrer's "Passage" as well :)
hi, my submisson is getting late and this is the link of my game page. I'll try my best to finish it as soon as possible.
