Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate you taking the time to write this, and for playing my game.

I haven't played this build in a month. So I just did a quick playthrough. I couldn't recreate the issue with the orc boss. Some of the bugs seem to happen rarely, or maybe there's something you did that I didn't in my playthrough.

I'm not sure, but it can work. I was able to get Shork to do both of his grabs then warp back to the lobby both times. You may just have to try again.

A lot of these bugs are fixed in the current sub build. Most of the work I did for that release was to fix the bugs.

I get most of my feedback when I do public releases. So I found out about a lot of bugs last release, and fixed them for this one. (0.195). So free players will have to wait a whole release to see the improvements. I'm trying to have most, if not all bugs gone by v0.2. I think I got a lot of them in the current sub build. Here is the change log for the current sub build.

Fixes:

  • Now the goblins will not disappear if they are not in a grab scene.
  • One goblin will no longer be able to start a group scene  (It may look like it sometimes, but it may just be that 2 goblins are overlapping each other)
  • This was an issue I had to fix that you guys won't see. I had to change up how the thief is put together. So that both NPCs can have scenes, and get pregnant at the same time.
  • The NPCs are also fixed so that only one goblin will disappear during a scene.
  • Pregnancy rates are now at 80%. Ember will more than likely get pregnant.
  • NPCs can now be grabbed while pregnant.
  • Fixed bug where Ember stops giving birth. (Kind of) That wasn't a bug, but now the total goblin births will need to be at 7 before Ember will stop getting pregnant. The NPCs can account for 3 of those births. I will add a cutscene to explain in game when/if you hit the limit later. It is mostly just to prevent the game form crashing/lagging due to too many goblins. (So, to be clear on how it works: After 3 goblins are born,, the NPCs will stay pregnant, and stop giving birth until some of the born goblins are killed. After 7 goblins are born Ember will not be able to get pregnant until some of the born goblins are killed.)
  • You can now aim the direction the birthed goblin will walk. (It will now go the way you are facing when you give birth.)
  • You can now return to the main menu. (I changed the "exit" option in the pause menu to take you back to the main menu. To exit entirely just hit "backspace" at the 18+ check.)
  • Changed how you enter a few maps to avoid facing the wrong way when you enter the room.
  • Updated some background sprites in the Godu City area.
  • Revised dialogue
  • Fixed a lot of the goblin spawners
  • Fixed a lot of bugged animations
  • No doubt a few minor fixes I have forgotten at this point.

So if you can hang tight the next build it should be a lot smoother of an experience. Or if you can afford the $3 on Subscribestar, you can give it a try now.

There is also a new NPC character with animations.

As far as mechanical depth, you will get more abilities. Things like attacks, and a double jump. It's not going to be super deep though. I'm trying to keep it pretty simple.

(1 edit)

This is a bit of a *spoiler*.

Think back to this shirt you couldn't reach with a normal jump.

Thanks for the feedback. These issues should be fixed in the current sub build. I increased the pregnancy chance, and made some tweaks to the goblins to fix these kinds of issues.

Thank you for your feed back! I really appreciate it, and it helps me make the game better.

I'll play around with the jump heights. I worried when setting up that first jump if it would be too difficult. I wanted it to be a little difficult, due to the fact that that is like the "final boss" of this first build. You didn't miss much. Once you complete the jump you have completed the demo.  There is just a room with 2 goblins for animation viewing.

If you wait for the goblin to head towards where you're going, and time the jump when he hits the wall, and turns around you should be able to get it. You can also leave the area and then re-enter to respawn the goblins, if you don't want to wait on a birth.

In the newest Subscribestar build I tried to do something about the teleporting issue. I realized as the map gets bigger you will need to be able to quickly get back to where you were. I still wanted getting caught to be a little bit of a penalty. So in the newest (current) sub build there is the ability to teleport back to a save point from the lobby. Once you pass a save point it will be available to warp to, if you talk to Jenny at the front desk.

As the game progresses you will get new outfits, that make the dungeon easier to explore. In the newest build you unlock the mage outfit. This was in the original test demo, and lets you hide while the goblins pass by. That way you can get to the other side of a goblin, without having to jump over them. The next outfit will give you a double jump ability that will pretty much eliminate the need to bounce on the goblins. Before that though, you will have part 2 of the mage outfit. (each outfit gets an attack, and an ability) It will allow you to fire a magic bolt that will let you kill the goblins at range without getting close. These things are not in the game yet, but are on the way.

During testing of my current build I changed some of the hit boxes to make jumping on the goblins easier, and I changed the "downed" timing a little to try and make it less frustrating. You will have just enough time to get up before being grabbed if you mash the "X' key, even if you are immediately downed again. So you can sort of limp along until you can free yourself. However, if you get stuck in a pit, and can't jump out, you will need to warp out.

A lot of things work better in the new build, including a rework on how the goblins function. Although, there are still QoL things I want to add.

That would be a pretty big time investment on my part, and I'm really only interested in making the game I am working on now. Even a short game takes weeks of work, and that would make Goblin Hole take longer to finish. I have an obligation to my subscribers to work on this game. So I don't plan on working on any other games, until I finish this one.

If this is a game you'd really like to see though. I'm sure there are artist online that are looking for commission work, and maybe they'd want to work with you on this idea. I'm gonna be honest though, that's not something I am interested in doing.

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

I agree. I need to add in a sort of tutorial at the start. I was thinking of implementing an image that breaks down the basic controls, but I haven't finished it yet,
With the cutscene skip, the only one I have set up to skip right now is the intro. (press backspace) If I need the scene to continue after something happens though, It's more complicated to skip it. I've tried a few things, but I'm still working on that.

As far as nudity, there will be a fair amount in the game. Every sprite I make, I make them nude. Then I add clothes over top.

As you can see with the warrior NPC. Any female character sprite you have seen so far can be nude. In all of their animations.

I may have some lesbian scenes, but it will not be a heavy focus. I don't know if I could write a story around those themes you suggested, and I'm not really interested tbh. Might be some other devs out there though that'd be keen to that.

Hey, thanks for checking out my game. You're right, this is just a tech demo. You can only get to the "lobby", and test out the goblins. I am currently working on adding in the story, more characters, and  more h-content. Check out my Subscribestar for more regular game updates. I even have free previews at the follower level that show where I'm at right now in the development. The next build I intend to release for my subscribers will be more like the actual game.

It should. I just tested again, and I had sound.

Thank you so much! I'm working hard right now to not let you down. In fact an update will be coming soon. Hopefully, by the time my profile get's approved on SubStar. I will have a fix for the resolution that will make the sprites a little clearer, and an added intro cutscene to learn a tiny bit more about Nyth. She is the third protagonist, and didn't really have a place in the test demo.
