I absolutely adore the sketchy cutscene art, it feels so accurate to how Cassia would recall her memories - And the inventory too? It's so good!
The choices feel so very 'intrusive thoughts' coded, I can see a kid having those exact thoughts and telling themselves off the same way- I also just love having the potential to be Cassia's intrusive thoughts, it's wonderfully silly...
I WILL DO YOUR MATH HOMEWORK CASS I PROMISE
Excited to be here, this is the kick in the rear I needed to push through and finish this project!
Project name: A Sanctuary For You
Description:
You play as a lighthouse keeper living on her own over the course of three days, and you choose the tasks you want to perform to maintain the lighthouse each day. Depending on what you do while awake, you might recall different memories from your past and pave the way for a new future... Piece together your past over the course of several routes and answer the door when the time comes!

When you started the project: Started planning July 2024, started coding May 2025.
Your personal due date (can be the end of the jam, or earlier): End of year 2025! (12/31/2025)
From the start, Dawson's dialogue gave me a very clear impression of his character, and his relationship with our character. The way that changed over time as we went deeper was a genuinely impressive bit of narrative you constructed, I'm really impressed with the writing here!
The choice of just the canary singing and the footsteps made the whole trip even more ominous, honestly. And the use of the canary enhanced the narrative even more still! Well done!
The physical touches to the character writing, the inner thoughts bubbling over, everything left unsaid, it was all so gripping and emotional! Plus the artstyle of Ianthe and the effects/expressions were absolutely beautiful - the lighting/colors made it feel like we were in a dream with her...
Loved how the endings varied based on how open Maven decided to be with Ianthe... Even not clearly knowing the state of things between the trio, the tension was palpable and felt so real. I'm glad there's a path where things worked out for poor Maven!!
Your poetic voice is really beautiful, and the way you used the sprite and looping background to enhance the narrative I found really inspired! It really was a powerful, reflective journey through your grief late at night, cursing the night, pleading to the stars, reflecting, crying...
The looping choices too also fit the narrative so well! It's not a straight journey through grief, and I can't get over how fitting a choice that is, thank you for making this!
I really found myself reflecting on Cris's passion towards the drama club, no matter the audience drawn! Reflecting on how far they've come since begrudgingly joining the club, and holding all the memories, all the performances close even after the doors close for the last time...
The doors closing hit home so much, even when the reflection is done and you've finally parted ways you still have to process the ending and the unknown that comes next- That hit so well, subtly melancholic writing, thank you for making this!
You got a lot out of 1000 words here in this project to make a really intriguing narrative over several loops, it's really charming! I want to hold their hand, no matter how many times I pop back into Altair's orbit...
Maybe this cage was of my own design... o_o
I would not have discovered the Other Route without that Guide, but I'm glad I tried it, it was a really effective use of Ren'py to affect the narrative, and the minimalist aspect of it hit home very well!
In summary: I love me some time loops I love me some stars I love me some meta fun, this hit all points, well done!
I'm gonna share here too that the emotions in this game really hit home for me personally so much, thank you for sharing this!
The way those dark ugly thoughts can just stow away under your skin like seeds, and then bloom late at night when you're alone with your thoughts - the use of flowers in this story I just love so much, it's so well-done. The art too fits the imagery, and the sound effect got me so well too - it's an unpleasant feeling, and you conveyed it really well!
I may have come back to read this poem three or four times since you shared it, it's always a delight, thank you for sharing!! It honestly fits really well the tone I was going for - that mesmerizing, infatuating romance, with a deep mystery within-
(A fun fact For the curse here I did take from her marriage to Sisyphus and his eventual fate~ It's said her light faded afterwards out of shame~)
Thank you again for playing and sharing!!!
Oh your script was so well-done, so much life in Liv and the protag, so much unsaid between them that fleshes out both the world and their relationship so well. And yet you still managed to drop those two moments on us that turned the whole story on its head and ramped up the tension, that's super impressive!
The aesthetic is on point (from a fellow lighthouse enjoyer, I'd love to be able to just retreat from this world and hole up in a place like this for a few months...), the blue tones of the photos you used fit so well! And the sound effects fit the tone of the setting so well... On a personal note I really enjoyed the occasional just full stops to black/silence, felt like a series of vignettes of the two together- I don't know what else to say about it, I just found that format really appealing.
Really good stuff!!
There's something I find really heartfelt about the use of color in this. Red being the pain, the hopelessness, the self-destruction. Blue being the drive to step forward, to keep going, to create. It being so distant while we're in the red. The blue starting to bleed back in...
What really made it click was seeing how purple was used in the end. We can never really get rid of the red, can we? Both sides are a part of us...
I hope you don't mind my musing, this hit some old wounds I haven't felt in a while... Thank you for making this, I'm so glad I finally played this
Oh wow, this was a fascinating bit of sci-fi, told from a really cool perspective, flip-flopping between the two doctors and their own interactions between shifts-
Fascinating watching their relationship degrade, and then the climax hit like a solid punch to the gut- Really reframes all the little touches Lilith was doing on her time, huh~
A wonderful read!
There's something to be said about the figurative thought of memories burning away compared to the literal burning of memories here that can happen-
The fear of loss, not being understood, messing things up between friends, wanting to fix things-
Maya and Faye are so charming together (Phoenix Wright fan there?), while having that tension between them that felt so very relatable...
My silly musings aside, this was a fantastic read!
The heart wants what it wants and gosh dangit my heart's here falling for this smooth-talking reckless galavanting hero with a soft heart and a warm embrace hhhhh-
This is so clean, so good, so charming- (It made me legit blush IRL so shout-out to the wonderful writing and Trenton's voice acting ohh the total package is a joy!)
Ohh WOW this caught me off-guard in the best way possible! First of all the fire animation and all the ways you use it is really cool, the sprites and are lovely-!
The Wishmaker as a tale (as it's told in the story!) is a really simple but effective horror story, on the surface/around the campfire it might not've sounded like much-
Which is why I legit gasped audibly when the choice came, I really enjoyed the direction this took!
I could probably spend hours scrolling through the games list on its own hahah...
The characters were really endearing! In general, from what I saw the interactions with your new hires are all really endearing! (Plz protect Kenna!!) Casey's motivations perplexed me a bit, but over time they made more sense.
This story overall is WILD, and in the end I honestly enjoyed it~
This was absolutely breathtaking! And for your first work too? Congratulations, you've made something truly special here!
This realm really is so atmospheric and dream-like, and it really does start to feel a little warmer as the wisps are introduced. The choice of music was excellent as well, and the art? Deer man's design, the UI, the BGs were amazing! I'd agree with the one critique I saw that the menu buttons could stand to be a little bigger/better-defined? Main menu a bit hard to pick out and they get lost a little in the UI in-game-
The story hit me way harder than I expected. An absolutely beautiful take on that one fable I remember-
And the animated endings are gorgeous! Incredible work, I find I can't say that enough here!
And the cast, too, despite certain obvious factors, I really found myself just wanting to get to know all of them. They're really endearing all in all. I think there's something to be said for the cast (if you know you know) wanting normalcy, while the crux of the plot cues off of certain others reaching for the unknown, the forbidden, the dangerous-
Delightful work, thank you for sharing!
Ohh I enjoyed this a ton! Your games always have a wonderful charm to them, but certain late-game facts about this game made this so right up my alley I'd be so excited to see more of this! (If you so decide to down the line!)
The concept is great, the dice mechanics were unique and really cool, and the characters really intriguing! There's a lot told through subtle details I'd love to see elaborated on down the line! A lot of my lingering questions were answered by the dev log, so I'll just cheer you on and hope to see you revisit this after some time! Thank you for making this!
My last lingering regret.... not being able to give Cain the ring... ;u;
I must know... What does Niles think of pineapple on pizza...
Gods that was somehow equally charming and unsettling. The aesthetic was wonderfully on point! The buildup of the music and the background gradually zooming, the small details in their sprites you pick up on over time-
Recommended experience! No Tumblr AU shutposting allowed~
Finished a run blind and had to come back and see everything I could! There's way more than I expected here, I think I got 5 endings in total? But this was a really engaging journey!
The horror was really engaging, I thought! Really felt the Paranormasight vibes in the art, but the setup w/ the horror also kinda gave me Death Mark-series vibes? Probably more so, we're completely unprepared to be in a scenario haunted like this and it shows really well!
Very compelling, I enjoyed this a ton!
