First off, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, I hope they're doing alright!

Really cool premise with the robot idea on the spider diagram. Lovely illustrations, really got a feel for the character off the bat. Big fan of the look of the world, really original, eye catching, and striking! Fun idea being within a PC too. Not too sure how the little robot guy ties into being inside a PC outside of being technological. Some of the computer viruses have a more direct visual link though.

Assets and animations all look great! I might be reading it wrong, but does the head turn while sprinting? Or is that just to transition to from standing? Feels weird if the character looks away from where they're running if the former's the case. The little critter's very nice too, but I can't help but feel it's not the most striking design, the spider stands out to me most. I love your little sketches at the end too, the character and tone really come through.

It's hard to know what a level might look like for this, there's a lot left to the imagination with it's game design. I would love to know what mechanics you have in mind to play with and differentiate it from the rest! Your illustrations of the game look great, but I can't really tell what the moment to moment is beyond running across the screen. There doesn't look to be a whole lot of space for gameplay, but some funky platforming across tabs and windows, and transitioning off screen to reach other areas of a large monitor could be cool.

I would really love to see this come to fruition, as small as it may be! You've laid a solid visual foundation, but most importantly you've got to get the game feel right too, epecially working with such a tried and true genre!

I really sincerely would recommend getting this stuff in engine and making something small just to proof it, give yourself a tight deadline and see what comes out! I'd love to see the outcome! Great work, it's a shame it didn't go further in the time, but I hope to see it around!

(1 edit)

Made it all the way to corridor 8 without the pressure of streaming! I got a few repeat anomalies, I think per run it'd be cool to remove repeats just to see more of them! One relating to colour was especially tricky to notice earlier when I was playing with glare. I didn't realise the guide's instructions meant going forward/back via the exits at first, it was only when I was told that I realised. I don't know if making the corridor simply left to right would help (plenty of other options too!). The more I play the better I get though, it definitely shines given time to uncover! After longer than I care to admit (at least half an hour), I finally made it! Great work again, it cultivates a lovely vibe, and you got me seeking solace in finding an anomaly!

P.S. Love the look! Real nice pixel art and animation!

This is the best I could do:
