When in the main menu, click Play and then Specials and you should be able to play it from there.

If I'm not wrong, which I might be, it'll take a while and the doctor will check up on you every few mornings and after a while you get the option to either keep it or get it removed. (It's been a while since I've done it so I don't fully remember, I hope this helped.)

It should be in the development log.

They haven't abandoned it, they're still working on it. I'd suggest joining the Discord to know more.
