Great work on your first game! Definitely agree with ramping up the difficulty would help a lot and having a death screen/pause between runs would be appreciated! I also found the controls to be a little finicky  as the cat got stuck moving downwards for me. I think you could really grow this idea it a really cool bullet hell style game! Appreciated the way you could use the water and the house to avoid the slimes! I also think not starting by the water would help with understanding the fear of water and having other obstacles for the slimes to move around would help with the dodging and feeling like I should move around the map. Also making the fear of water more of an obvious change associated with the red screen since not all bodies of water causes it I think would be a great touch! Congrats on your first game I hope you make more :D

Absolutely loved this game!

I loved the pixel art and then using the shaders to make the 3d portions feel cohesive down to all the different mini games and mechanics! Truly the end result felt extremely polished and the exact type of interactive experience I DEEPLY enjoy and create a really immersive experience! Even down to the TV screen affect when focused on mini screen. I did find some of the mechanics a little clunky from the execution standpoint. Agree with murmurations feedback about the fishing minigame I was going to say similar. I also found the dials to be a little finicky but that could've just been user error.

Also wish the decaying of the ship was more obvious throughout the experience so it felt more like it was building up to the SINK moment.

Overall though extremely polished and impressive and I'm so impressed about the quality you reached in the time frame! Feels like a full fledged release rather than a week long jam project! Excited to follow your future projects :D

This game turned out amazing! As others have said the ski controls were very impressive and after dying once from running into a tree too fast I was going very slow the second time around appreciating the eerie night time atmosphere as I carefully picked my way through the trees.

And then the monster!!! That gave me a proper spook and made me panic and speed down the hill. I really enjoyed it especially as someone who doesn't enjoy jumpscares it felt like the perfect level of spook! Felt like the beast of the forest was coming to get me.

Also really appreciated the narrated ski lift intro! Was a nice touch!

I did find this to be a very loose connection to theme as the skis just seemed more like they were breaking then they were decaying. I think if I could see the skis visually rotting away that would've been a better connect. Or if the aspen monster lore that was established by the narration was about the monster being a decayed part of the aspen or even that the decayed remains of skiers feeds the aspens.

Awesome work overall though really clean controls most skiing or such mini games and such I've tried out have felt very clunky to use.

Really enjoyed this start to your visual novel! I'll definitely keep an eye out to see where you take it next! I saw a couple typos and found that the sound effects seem to glitch out a little when we were at the alchemist's house. I do like the building sense of dread at the start and excited to see how the theme would be incorporated more as well as the horror elements! Super polished especially considering the time constraints! Great work!

Was really  impressed with the game overall!

I especially liked how the eyes moved around of the player character and was quite impressed with your credits and hand drawn intro and ending splash art!

I did find the enemy ai a little confusing. It was still after me when I tried to use the shadows or boxes so ended up just trying to dodge them. I also found they would often stand in doorways to rooms so I couldn't really avoid them when that was the case. Would've preferred more set routes that they then track onto you from.

Also would've loved to have the footsteps be a better indication of where the enemy is. I think I could hear them through walls which was fun but I'd have loved that audio cue.

I found the bounding boxes hard to use for the energy sources. I often found I could only click onto one side of the energy source and if that was intentional it was unclear which.

But that would only be feedback for making this a full fledged game! Everything I said was very nitpick feedback! Super impressive result!

Thanks for playing! The freeze at the end was the end of the game. Ran out of time to have a proper end screen and wasn't able to force quite the embedded game properly

Thank you for playing! You actually did get to the end of the game-I've now realized that the ending didn't quit since it's web embedded properly. I'll add a note to the itch description thank you for pointing that out!
