I tried launching Novetus after a successful March 2007 client setup. Despite installing all the usual suspects(outdated C++ redistributables and .Net frameworks) the launcher does not give even a window. Task manager showed the process briefly popping up then vanishing. After digging through logs i discovered the root cause was: Comic sans was missing, and the client crashed without a fallback font. i know hate comic sans.
If you want to reproduce the bug:
Install Novetus on a system that doesn't have comic sans. Try launching the client. Watch it crash faster Than trying to do Clockwork's physics test In the 2007 client.
it would be great to implement a user-friendly error if comic sans is missing, or a fallback font. Or make i known as a requirement during install.
Version info: Windows 7 Ultimate, Novetus Version 1.3 v3.2024.2, Intel Celeron G1840, Nvidia geforce 210, 8 gb or ram
