Thank you for playing! Feel free to suggest anything that could further improve your experience.

I really enjoyed the game's atmosphere, and the visual aesthetics as a whole. The models, colours, light and fog were all very pleasant on the eye. I also find the playful, and a bit absurd, setting very fun.

In terms of what could be improved, I feel like the movement is rough. I often got my momentum killed by small pieces of geometry. The transfer of movement in jumping also feels strange, like my pumpkin's physics just freeze for the jump's build up, and then they come back again.

Very nice concept, I really like the difficulty progression as the effects start adding up.

Very nice concept, I really like the idea. I couldn't finish the game though, it's pretty hard. I feel like some easier levels with all shapes at the start would be nice, so I could go through all the content.

The gameplay feels very nice. I like how everything fits well together: inventory management, timing, the items themselves.

This game reminds me of the space maps in OG Star Wars Battlefront II from the mid 2000s, I love your idea. The vehicles actually I feel different and I think they're a great foundation for a future game.

In terms of improvements, I feel like what was missing the most was some indication of where the enemies are and maybe some instruments for orientation. Battles in such open 3D environment can become very disorienting, and it's pretty frustrating to be taken out by some sneaky enemy near the end of the game.

If you add a score system and an ability to invert the pitch controls, I'd probably play this frequently in the browser.

Ah got it, must've been tough switching platforms through the jam.

While it's not yet in the game, could you add the contents of the tutorial to the game's page? It would help a lot with understanding the mechanics, so I can make a better review.

For some reason what loads in my browser doesn't look like the screenshots. I don't have a tutorial, there are no walls and my character looks different. There's also an achievements section in the main menu that doesn't load. Could've itch served me an older version of the game?

I liked the puzzles.

It feels like the game could greatly benefit from some form of journaling mechanic, I didn't like having to remember everything my character discovered, and would much prefer to have had it written down somewhere.

I genuinely enjoyed my playthrough. I feel like you should also add credits for the writing of the characters and story, they were very fun.

I played and completed the game, these are my personal impressions:

What I like

  • The music and art style are awesome.
  • I love the absurdity of the story and setting.
  • The fog surrounding the screen feels very good.
  • The limited ammo and the fact that you can lose the game if you aren't careful about where you shoot.

What I didn't like

  • Playing full screen, the large pixelated font at the start was hard on my eyes.
  • I don't like the game insulting me when I die.

Tech issues

I'm sure these wouldn't be in the game if you had more time, but I hope my experience can be of help with bug hunting:

  • The pausing was very clunky when playing in browser full screen. At one point my projectiles didn't spawn when shooting after unpausing, but I can't reproduce it.
  • The game randomly freezes for a few seconds sometimes, I wasn't able to predictably reproduce this either.

I got my first kitten and I'm enjoying the game so far. I just got this minor bug with processing the text characters, not sure where to post it:

Edit: It doesn't seem like my screenshot uploads, so I'll describe it: It looks like I should get a smiley face, but I have unprocessed characters instead, like this:

(=^???^=), just replace the ? with boxes

Fun concept, I lold at the error throwers and got all the way to max level. I feel like you didn't have time to fully complete the game, so I hope the rest of my comment will help you with prioritizing what to do next. These are the most key things I felt were missing when I played:

  • The enemies' reaction to being hit is very subtle. Later in the game, I have no idea what I've hit.
  • After I got to  max level, I couldn't gain extra score playing further.
  • I wasn't sure what the luck stat did until my second playthrough when I noticed I was dodging some shots.
  • At max speed I was as fast as my bullets. Maybe this was intended, but just felt a little strange.

Thanks for playing and nice catch! I've credited you in the merge request where I fix this bug: https://gitlab.com/mitk0100/bush-522/-/merge_requests/22
