I tried... but unfortunately I have something called a "skill issue" so I don't think I was even able to get past the one minute mark 😭😭😭😭. That said, I think it's a very creative concept, the artwork is simple but effective. The music really drives you to keep trying even if you have skill issues like me 😭. And the narrative was cool though I got a bit confused as to why these two guys were fighting.
I wish I was able to see the ending, but Im sure it would take me a lot of tries to get there 😭
Such a creative mechanic and interpretation of the theme! I made it to level 10, but it's definitely a really cool game! The artstyle is charming as well, and the music fits pretty well too!
Only thing that held me back a bit, which might just be a personal preference, is that you have to die a lot of times on purpose to progress through the levels which makes it a sort of puzzle game of sorts. It's a cool mechanic, though!
I gave it a couple of runs and it was quite engaging! The bosses definitely take some time to get used to and learn their patters, but I really liked the concept! Sad that there's no music, it would've really benefited from that, but the artstyle was quite cute as well!
Definitely would play again if the game gets an update!! Long live the Jamily!
Really engaging game! I liked the idea of the game being kinda like an incremental or a tycoon, kept me playing longer than I expected. The artstyle is pretty cute though I feel like the environment feels a bit too spacious, like it's too empty.
The upgrades I feel like could be better because at least for me, what I wanted at the start was more time to harvest, so I tried to get more time and stuff and didn't get the worker bee til later on, which I though would've been nicer to have the worker bee earlier.
Overall it was quite an enjoyable game, and really creative idea!
This is how far I made it for reference
I made it to the going up level and there I got stuck lol. I have to play it again later, but I wanted to be the first rating ;)
The artwork is really cute, the music is very chill too! I liked the concept of the game being helping the shoops get to the skip the fence, I think that's sweet. It has a lot of levels which surprised me for a jam game tbh.
Also I don't know if it was intended, but the platforms work without placing them so I can basically drag a the shoop to the end xD
Overall, I think it's cute game, and it looks very polished for a game jam of 4 days! The only thing I would say, since I want to be transparent with the rating, is that since it's about counting sheeps, it's probably a very utilized topic, so I wouldn't say it's the most creative, but the execution surely is!
Really cool game! I got stuck with the ice cream thingy, but up until that point, I really liked the concept of the game, it was really cool. I had to play with my touchscreen lol cuz with the mouse is significantly difficult. Also really liked the little live camera in the right corner, one of my favorite things of this game. Great stuff!
oooh, I see that you were going for more of a metaphoric explanation, it seems. I unfortunately didn't really knew much of the lore tbh. I learned that there was a disappearance after playing it when I read the description in the page as it is not much explained, I think, in the game. (There is only the text of like "oh, have my computer, this is the password" but that's about it). And I just kinda jumped into the game, so I probably missed that.
Since that was your goal, maybe it would have helped (at least from my perspective) making it more obvious for ppl like me who didn't read the description lol. But cool idea nonetheless!
lmaooo lore accurate is crazy! Well makes sense, I also haven't had an office job yet, so maybe I don't find it relatable enough, but still pretty good game! Also, I ran it on Linux using Proton so maybe it was running badly bc of that? I dunno, but if you ever make optimization improvement lmk and I will give it another go!
This is so cool! I could see myself getting addicted to this!
The music fits so well that it doesn't need anything else to be honest. It's so cool
Some improvements I would suggest could be:
- Maybe make the sprites of the houses, mills and all that noticeably different since they all kinda looked the same to me so it was kinda hard to get into at the start
- You could also add a little icon on the "Miller likes to be next to This ,That" replacing the names for the same reason as above, it's a bit confusing, at least for me.
- There are a lot of things to place, so maybe a progression system could be good? Like after you place 10 things, you unlock something or something like that, though I didn't feel this strictly necessary.
- The text was a bit hard to read, maybe because it doesn't have shadow or the font is weird, idk
That said, I think this is really cozy game, and honestly really cool stuff! Thanks for submitting this :D
