Honestly, thank you for the honest review! I'm happy that you played the game for that long.
Checkpoints are definitely a must for such games. Sadly, I didn't have much time to implement them properly. A part of me also felt that they weren't that necessary since this is a short game and I wanted it to be kind of hard , but thinking about it, I should have added some, at least before the angels.
The game needs a lot of quality-of-life improvements. I will surely add a lot of guidance in the final version (If I ever make one)
Btw, the last soul was the corrupted soul! Once you defeat them, they turn into a normal soul

This is one of the best games that I have played here.
You nailed the retro feeling so well that at some point, I felt like I was travelling through time.
I admit that I was a bit bored at the beginning, but once I got used to the controls, I was hooked!
And the music! I loved the music! Lots of 5s from me. So far, I’ve only tried about 10 games, but I could easily see this becoming one of the winners!! Unless there’s something even better out there.

Ps. Polish it and turn it into a small full game once the jam is over
My opinion on them goes -99% if they use Ai for art. It's unethical, lazy, bad for the enviroment and only hurts creative people that put effort into their craft.
If you can't draw, sit and learn, buy assets, or hire someone to do your art.
AI won’t really affect my illustrator side, since my art is mid and nobody was going to buy it anyway. But there are artists out there with real talent who’ve been honing their skills for years, and it’s a shame to see them getting replaced like that, especially when their income and daily life are on the line.
Nice little game. Like others have already said, the visual feedback would have made the experience much better.
This is for your next Game Jam. In general, such games, where you fight constant mazes of enemies, you want the HIT feeling to be one of the first things you design properly, because this is what your player will be seeing and interact with the most.
It could become a full game with enough work, just keep in mind that the market is full of similar games, so you will need to think of more ways to make the experience unique!
Thank you for the comment!
Yeah, there are some issues due to time constraints. The walk animation stopped working (maybe I messed up the code at the end) and the Gdevelop logo appears only on Itchio (It's fine on Gdevelop games website, maybe something happened when I was creating the zip file) I wanted to fix them but I had family over on Sunday, I hardly managed to post it here xD
Another alien at the ship’s cafeteria: Man, this new rookie Xenon is freaking crazy! Just yesterday I saw him shooting 3 beams!!! Three beams just to clear an asteroid outside!! And and and then, just because he wasn't cleaning them fast enough, he started crashing into them! These recruits are nuts!

Everyone I noticed that the characters are producing poop a bit too fast.
Just wanted to let you know that this wasn’t intentional. If I had more time, I would’ve created a patch to fix it — but unfortunately, time’s up.
Also, I noticed that the second text asset at the beginning isn’t displaying properly. Not sure why, as it's definitely in the game's folder.
