Jared Roberge here. I'm the designer on the team and I also manage our itch.io account. Apologies for such a late reply. I briefly looked into the bug you encountered and was unable to replicate it. Is it possible that the character died when shooting the turret. That would cause every asset in the room to respawn, including the turrets.
If I could get some more details on the issue I might be able to patch out the issue, but I can't guarantee anything seeing as this project was finished some time ago.
