Glad that you enjoyed it, I'm really looking forward to episode 2!

We can definitely give feedback, but i'd prefer it to be per request and via email. Please feel free to mail info@js48h.com to request feedback and I'll send a response, with your over all ranking and the per category score. Does that sound good?

Thanks for joining! I had a lot of fun watching the stream, was really cool to see someone spend a good amount of time on game design! Looking forward to seeing you next time :)

Really glad you could be part of this!! Thanks for joining, and looking forward to seeing you next time! :)

Indeed, it's a weird quirk that itch allows updates after the game jam is over. I'm going to take your word for it that it was just to make the build smaller. Next time we'll definitely be looking at other jam options (or roll our own) - this is a good learning experience for us as jam hosts, and we really appreciate the feedback! Thankfully, we did play them all as they were submitted, so the final judges decisions - outside of the community votes - won't really be affected by late updates.

Indeed, we chose itch purely due to it being one of the easiest ways to host a jam. The Super Quantum Mutants however was an exception. They submitted on time, but had issues getting it to accept their game. For some reason itch didn't like their link. I discussed it with them at the time, and I made a special link for them to submit - something game jam hosts can do. I can confirm that their 11 minute late submission was exactly the same as what they tried to submit 2 minutes before time was up.

weird that itch allows that, but i guess that's their system. I'll see if i can disable it :)

Chrome or Firefox should be fine... it really depends on individual judges. Personally, i might have a look at the game in IE/Edge, but mostly will be judging in Chrome and Firefox.

You're of course welcome to use your own engine!! :)

The main thing is that what you're doing, should be legally releasable. So if you have the rights to distribute the artwork in the game, then you should be able to submit it! As this is the first edition, we're also still learning how things work, so I think that the Ludum Dare guidelines are a pretty good basis, not just for jams, but for releasing games in general.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Created a new topic Welcome to the Jam

Hi all!

Welcome to the first edition of JS 48. Over the weekend myself and a few other Html5 developers will be around this forum to help out with any questions. Feel free to post screenshots, work in progress, ideas and anything relevant here and we'll do our best to give feedback :)

Good luck to everyone, and most importantly have fun!

Cheers,

David Goemans
