It is only prohibited by law in the case of marriage not relationships. Also, it is quite possible to have several partners in a real life polyamorous "harem". A lot of people have started entering this sort of lifestyle. I personally have had this with a set of twins and their best friend. Typically what happens is one of the people involved is not as emotionally mature as the rest and they get jealous so the relationships have to change or end. I have some friends that the dynamic is 1 guy /w 3 girls and they have been solid in that 4 way relationship for about 4 yrs now, so yes it can and does happen but it isn't discussed much openly due to the sexually and emotionally limited views of the average person.
I have enjoyed the story line. I like the fact that it has a story arc where I can make crucial decisions without being bored to death with trivial micro decisions like going to the market, library, club. This story has limited choices that come at crucial intersections in the characters lives. I have actually played it through a couple of times now and selected different choices.
If you want a game that requires you to make a choice every few minutes then this is not for you, but if you want one that has beautifully rendered characters and a great story with crucial decisions at key intersections in the characters lives then this will be a lot of fun for you. The main female protagonist is stunning. I love the fact that the women don't have gigantic fake boobs that are the size of watermelons, but are instead created with a variety of breast sizes.
