Tysm for playing our game! Yes yes I also dearly loved those browser point and click puzzle games back when flash was still around, I'm sure some of those childhood experiences rubbed off onto this game. Ty as well for the feedback, we'll try to resolve some of the issues you've spotted after the game jam has ended.
I'm glad you enjoyed boney's sad :< face

This was fun to play and exploring and talking around to the npcs. Love the art and how you utilize the limited color palettes. I was able to reach the end of the game, but it there were times where I had to guess where the platform ahead was. Like specifically the two pillar on the left and right sides of the door. Also the dialogue with the sun where he say "supernova" has caused me to die a few times because usually the character is close to dying.
Overall amazing for a first game! Congrats, it's also my first time making one as well! Great job with the art, and music. I loved the character design for the character and doodled some fanart.
I already understood how the game worked because I've played similar games (paleopines).
I had trouble however with the low mouse sensitivity I was given. I looked around and I didn't seem to find any setting to increase the sensitivity. The fast movement and the slow turning made it hard to navigate fluidly, and face the creatures properly.
The creature designs were really cute though and I like the muscus-like glob with branches sticking out of it. I also really liked the 2D character sprites in a 3D environment. The game was really cute and the UI was easy to follow! The terrain was very alien + beach which fit the aesthetic. ☃️
I had similar issues where at the 3rd stage, my character couldn't move even after selecting cards and then getting eaten alive by crabs. The menu didn't work very well for me either, where when I clicked on it, it wouldn't take me where I wanted to be.
I did really like the game and the mechanic behind getting the ice cream, I just wished I was able to progress more into it. The SFX of the crabs scuttling I thought was really amusing and I enjoyed the music a lot. It had a nice whimsy that I enjoyed that felt very retro. The art was charming, it felt to me like it paired well with the music.
A few suggestions for art-wise is that I wish there was more texture or indication of sand, and the cards would read better with more visual elements in it. The character itself also could benefit by some slight dark lines so that the silhouette stands out better instead of his skin tone and slippers blending in with the sand!
This was fun, I do like some card games. ☃️☃️
