This game is totally my kind of game, I just HAD to complete each challenge! The challenges are quite tough, and often force you to think outside the box., but it all flows very well, the speed is cool and I love how you got the most of limited content/level. Very cool!
I do wish there was some dope background music though!
Played it again, now I figured out how to get through doors (step back a little)! Here's my new feedback:
- The game has the vibe of early 90s shooters; "Collect the keycards, fight through guards / drones and get to the exit". Simple, but effective!
- I liked being able to shoot and destroy walls!
- I haven't found a reason to use the Loop Mechanic, I understand it's a restart?
- Currently the Loop Mechanic is bound to the R key. I wish a different button than R was used to start the loop. Most shooter games have R as a reload button, and even though this game has weapon auto reload, I caught myself pressing R frequently after a fight (habit), only to restart the fight I just finished
- Very minor, but I expected the assault rifle to act more like an assault rifle instead of a shotgun / bolt action rifle
Either way, I'm happy I gave it another shot. If you're into oldskool shooters, you could like this one!
Fantastic game. The music is boppy, the sounds fit well, the vibe, art, puzzles... everything adds to a fun and delightful experience. The tutorial is on point (and often times overlooked in other games), and it all feels really polished. Well done and congratulations on releasing a fun and beautiful game!
Gorgeous environments, art direction and sounds. Overall a very beautiful, enjoyable and solid experience!
My feedback for any (future) improvements would be:
- Add a refresher or a way for players to check controls. I didn't know to repair with 'E' until reading the game page again. A button prompt near the payload would have been great
- Payload is misspelled as 'Paylod' in the out of range message
- Would have loved some more variation in enemies. Maybe one more resistant against bullets, forcing you to use the fire spin?
- Some music (techno / dub / sci-fi) in-game would be great
But really, enjoyable and beautiful game, congratulations!
The crash animation was a quick implementation but it was so funny we kept it in as it is lol.
The movement is sadly a bug that crept in later in development, and we didn't have enough time left to investigate and fix properly.
Same for the performance; it looks nice but at a cost of performance. Lot of good lessons learned in our first game jam!
I really enjoyed the slick and fluid movement, and the gun feels great to fire too! Feels like one of those 90's shooter games.
- I do wish there were more guns. The controls show the option to switch weapons but I have not seen weapon picks ups, nor was I able to switch weapons
- It would have been better if the drones were moving, they were now an easy target
- The experience itself is a bit dull - find and shoot, rinse and repeat without changes to difficulty or challenges, but luckily the movement and gun feel make up for it.
Congrats on your game!
I managed to find 7 dogs before I called it quits lol. The concepts, visuals and overall ideas are cute!
- Snazzy and bouncy music, I liked it!
- Visuals are cute. and I recommend playing full screen to see the details more on the dogs
- The walking speed could be faster
- The indication of <total dogs> / <collected dogs> (for example 9/7) is odd, I would have done 7/9, so 7 out of 9 dogs. But this is minor.
Some ideas in case you decide to continue/expand/redo later:
- It could be cool that if you didn't find additional dogs in time, that some of your already collected dogs start running off.
- Maybe some dogs don't play well together. You already have big and small dogs, maybe you need to collect the small ones first before getting a big dog
Congrats on releasing your game! I had some difficulties playing it, and here's my feedback:
- I would have liked a reminder in-game or in the menu on interactions. Some games use E, some F, some Left-Click.
- The toothbrush did not seem to work, only the picking up of the wallet worked
- However, after picking the wallet, I could go straight to the office
- Initially had some issues finding my cubicle, even though it's marked with YOU. A marker/indication or even different colors for the cubicle would have helped
- I typed the entry into the PC correctly (I checked three times), and it made a 'success' sound, but nothing happened
Overall I can see what you tried to achieve, it would have made it clearer and enjoyable with some extra markers/indicator or explanation.
Congrats on releasing this game. The concept is simple and fun!
The execution of it could be a bit better though, and here's my feedback:
- Initially I had no clue what to do and where to go. I could go to the DJ but had no money to buy anything. Later I discovered the big round lid in the middle which could open. An icon or indication of sorts on the lid would have been helpful here
- Initially I had no idea how to close the Purchase (at the DJ) window. Apparently it's by simply walking away from the DJ, but that's not obvious (to me)
- The music stopped at one point
Dope game! From the menu's music and visuals you can already tell this will be good. And it did not disappoint! I kept going back for another run! My only - and very minor - feedback would be to rename "Exit" to "Restart" or something, as I initially assumed Exit would actually quit the game. But great work guys!
Unlike the previous comment, I didn't manage to understand what to do. I once heard an affirmation sound of doing something right, but with the amount of clicking I did it's impossible for me to say what I achieved haha. Still, the atmosphere is on point, and it does have an escape room quality to it. I'll get back to this one!
