Wow! I finished all four chapters in one setting, and I'm so glad I did. I wasn't sure about the switching POVs, but both Artemisia and Ambrose are such engaging characters that I was instantly converted (lol). It's really illuminating to be able to explore this world through both their eyes and see how it treats them.
I hope you'll continue this one day!
This is really fun! I like the fact that the MC is an unrepentant villain--and that the plot's about him trying to escape consequences. But can he? The writing is gorgeous and period-appropriate; there's no modern speak that sometimes pops up in historical IF.
A bit suggestion if I may: can you darken the font on the light mode? It's a bit hard to read given the background. I know dark mode is very popular, but it actually tires my eyes really quickly so I have to use light mode.
Wow this was so immersive! I played all through until Chapter 5 in one sitting. I have a particular preference, but I appreciate that there's no easy solution to the moral dilemma at the heart of the story.
The worldbuilding is fantastic. I can't wait to learn more about the history--in particular the origin of the kingdom and more about the belief systems.
I also love the simple but pretty design; it's very easy on the eyes.

I wasn't looking to seriously play anything, just wanted something to pass time. Instead I got hooked! Played until past midnight and only stopping because I had to work in the morning.
I got stuck in 37 of 49 though. Can't seem to get Lauren's two youngest brothers right. I think I know what the mystery might be, but can't seem to find the right way to get more clues.
