I was really impressed with this novel!

First and foremost, you delivered on the aesthetics. The sleek pixel art and UI. The retro styled music. They were made with obvious care and attention to detail, and really made the experience that much more immersive.

But I have to give the most praise to the story you've told, and how you built the reset function into the narrative. By initially framing the date as a series of decisions that need to be done 'right', the same way many people playing VNs would see it, you also reveal the dysfunction in that mindset. And the narrtative builds on that! The structure breaks, reality is messy and uncomfortable. But it can still work out!

Beyond the technical detail, the characters feel authentic as well. Having been in the speedrunning/competitive game world myself, I would say you've done a great job capturing both the mindset and attitudes of that space. The petty drama is on point too 😆

All in all, Faultless. Thanks for all the time you put in!

Our reading group had a blast playing through this novel! There's honestly too many details to pick out and praise individually. But the clear effort put into the presentation of this VN really enhances the experience. We couldn't ask for more!!

Haven't got the end of the current content yet, but this novel is already a masterpiece to me. The most intense and well written VN I've seen in this community. Bold and unapologetic, rich with historical myth and lore. It's also great for group reading! Hitting that sweetspot for out-loud narration.

You've given my friends and I an experience we won't forget. Thank you ^^

(1 edit)

I really liked this novel!! Me and my reading group read it yesterday evening. It was a lot of fun to narrate, and it was paced beautifully. I really liked the design choices with the music and art too.

In the final scene - Atlas, who was narrating the second half, broke into tears. They opened up to us about their feelings, and how they resonated with the outcome of the novel. It was a moving moment for us all.

Both of you made something tangibly real. Something that resonates beyond your own experiences. Often I think, artists can lose sight of the fact that their work has an impact on others. I hope you can both take pride in what you've managed to do ^^

I've completed a reading of this with a couple of friends, it was absolutely stellar. Paced perfectly for out-loud reading. A distinctive visual art style. Seamless sound. We were hooked!

Regardless of whether you continue this, you should be extremely proud of what you've managed to achieve. This is an impressive piece of work, especially for a solo project.

I enjoyed reading this story! It was very well designed.

I liked the small details specifically. The edited photos, use of filters to simulate party lights, the UI and music choices. It all came together to form a very cohesive - convincing setting. The writing was well complimented as a result.

Thanks for spending the time making this.
