Oooaaaw :0 thank you very much for letting me know that ! I’m super happy to know that you are enjoying walking theses halls !!

Stay tuned as much more is to come !

Hi,

Thank you for the valuable inputs ! Here is some clarification and insight.

About waiting for a new room:

If you’re not familiar with Godot here is what’s happening: The game engine provide a way to manage Global Illumination for procedural environment but at the cost of some loading time, among other downsides. This loading time only happen once for each room, but depending on your hardware and the CPU usage it may be a bit long.

One thing I could do is to enforce the generation of at least 3 or 4 inital room. This is not ideal since it would make the initialization much much longer. But I could work around by adding some content or additional settings related to the gameplay of a given new game.

The current strategy i’m focusing on right now is to make the room less boring with more content (especially interactive content related to the lore). I assume that when the player is busy trying some stuff in a room, the waiting time feel shorter.

about hallway style areas

You are absolutely right. This is already scheduled and fall in the “architectural enhancement” category of new upcoming features.

You can follow the progress of the development here.

Hello there :)

A build for Linux would be great !

Well you could go on mastodon. Real nice place with freedom and privacy. :)

The game aesthetic is very very nice ! Too bad we can’t run. The slow pace is a bit frustrating during exploration.

The game would deserve additional gameplay and narative !

I can’t follow you, I’m not on bluesky. I bookmarked your portefolio :)

I’m using gentoo. In the mean time I switched to pipewire which allow to use ALSA API and pulseaudio. The game is working well :)

This is a disturbingly accurate polyamory simulator.

Hello, really really impressive game if you did this on your own! On linux, with graphics set to ultra there is some performance issue. Maybe is there couples of things to optimise ?

I got a GTX1070 3Gb and a core i7 third gen. Not really fresh hardware but not bad either
Anyway, it would be nice to keep updating this project ! I've see you made a sequel but it's windows only :(

Keep up the good work <3

Indeed, a Linux build would be great :)

Hello, on Linux the game needs libpulse (Pulseaudio)

./Visitor_Linux.x86_64: error while loading shared libraries: libpulse.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any chance to make the game playable with good old fashioned Alsa ?
