The studio is known to be scammers. The side game you paid for was the only thing they planned on releasing from the start. 1st degree murder was a promise created to hook unsuspecting and impatient players who would pay for their short side game as they waited for the full release of the actual game they wanted to play. You are one of them.
Not only you, but everyone who has donated to their kickstarter has been lied to and scammed. This short side game is the only thing you'll ever get.
Oof, it's been a while so I don't remember the details but I know that this team is known to start kickstarter projects, getting the money and abandoning said projects. Ik they've already done it once before this game. And they've done it again with 1st degree murder: they release a short amazing demo so you get your hopes up and donate tons of $$, then they stop working on it to release a short "side game" in the meantime (while the main game should still be in development, mind you. Already suspicious) just so they can make one last bonus paycheck before fleeing for good.
Basically, they never planned to finish 1st degree murder. They only wanted to sell their short side game. To make sure it sold well, they had to lie to people by creating immense hype around a game that will never exist, just so players get hooked by it and buy the short $10 side game as they patiently wait for the game they ACTUALLY want. It's like promising someone that you'll give them a nice burger, and they pay you $8 for it. You say it'll take time so you tell them they can buy $4 chicken nuggets in the meantime. The person is so excited for the burger that they nod and give you the money without much thought. And in the end you ghost them and leave, knowing full well you never planned on making a burger for them. Lucky you, you got $12 in your pocket instead of $4.
So yeah, people did get something... but it's still a scam. The Kickstarter money is gone, and the players who paid $10 for the side game are stuck with just that.
I know i'm a month late but can you simply not download the .cia file instead of the .gba? It will be directly added to your 3ds home menu so it'll be a much more smooth experience for you since you won't have to go through TM++ to launch the game. And GBARunner2 is frankly kinda crap.
Just use FBI to install the .cia and play it directly. And if you need to grab the save file just use Checkpoint.
I'm very glad I found this. Loved both routes tho I'm a bit more intrigued by Cirrus' story. (Fancy stranger will probably end up being my favorite tho, I know what I like). I often crave darker games but they almost always tend to be a little *too* much for me, but this one is just perfect.
Almost forgot to add, but my favorite thing about this game so far is the MC. They're just delightful.
Can't wait to play the demo for the other love interests.
So far, this game has everything I always wanted in a visual novel:
-Wide range of customization for the MC with scars, moles, heterochromia, hijab etc.
-LGBTQ+ friendly/inclusive hell yea we love to see it
-Just like OL1 you can pick whatever personality you want for your MC and the love interest will adapt and love you anyway! One thing that always bothers me with the majority of romance visual novels, is that you're forced to pick *very* specific options and dialogue choices depending on the love interest you wish to pursue, which means you can't really be yourself with the character you like since they will only show interest if you act a certain way. (so I can't act bold and flirty with the character I like most because they like the MC to be quiet and shy! Boo!) And that is a massive bonus for me. (also the wide range of choices instead of the typical 3 or 4)
-The little things like bonus dialogue if you wear a specific piece of clothing or bandages (Qiu was so cute asking why MC has bandages with his concerned little face) and the stickers which help for people like me who like to create a bazillion different MCs to milk the game much as possible (BTW if someone can tell me where the saves are located because I wanted to remove the old ones from the previous demo.)
-Jealousy system which was something I wanted in OL1 (though I def understand why you guys chose to not put it in the game! Cove didn't need to be jelly he's just THAT chill) But here in OL2 I can't wait to create some drama, some conflicts hehehe *rubs hands together*
Sorry for the wall of text. Forgot to mention I love all the characters (the teacher is cute btw can she be our mom too?). This game is as charming as the last and you guys will have all my money and support once the full version comes out for sure.
Well, it would be a lie to say I'm surprised by this. I figured this game would never be finished when the logs started to pile up basically saying the same thing "we're trying our best but [bad thing] happened". It's good to see that you are honest towards people who gave their money to this game. Truly a shame that happened, the demo was fantastic. I hope to hear from you again if you ever decide to start another, less ambitious project.
Thank you for the notice and for trying your best.
We live in 2022. It would take them a few minutes to write a little update and say "sorry yall stuff happened."
The devs already had a bad reputation when this project was released, though most people were unaware and chose to trust them.
Stop playing dumb. Stop defending con artists, AnonymousLucario.
I posted a comment here a year ago basically saying "don't get your hopes up for this one, the devs have a bad reputation" and unfortunately it looks like I was right. It's a shame for everyone who trusted you guys and spent money on this scam.
Y'all, best thing you can do right now is to remember the name "Parival" and avoid it like the plague next time they create a new project to steal money from unsuspecting people.
Don't wanna ruin everyone's expectations, but the main game will likely never be released. The devs for this game are known to be extremely lazy, and the fact that they put more time and effort in side game rather than the main story says a lot. Devs wanted to make quick money without much efforts. (not saying the side game is bad, but it's definitely low effort for its price)
Having to pay 10$ for a 50k words long visual novel is ridiculous, especially when there are very, very good and wayyy longer visual novels out there you can get for free or like, 5$.
Seriously. I know i sound b*tchy but it has to be said.
So yeah, don't get your hopes up, pretty sure this is never going to be a finished product, and it was planned to be this way from the very beginning.
Well, chapter 8 might be my favorite. The sweet and playful atmosphere at the start being slowly and painfully pushed to the side by this weird feeling of unease, like something BIG is on the way. For once i felt like my choices really mattered, i was stuck looking at my screen like an idiot, thinking "well, what should i pick, obviously this is gonna shape my ending..." or will it?
It was such a delight (especially for this chapter) to come back to my previous saves and pick something different, to see how twisted things can get depending on my anwsers...I'm very, very excited for chapter 9, because clearly now i'm expecting things to get ugly.
Amazing game, really. I couldn't help but make an account just so i could thank you guys for all your hard work making wtnc, it truly is a little gem to me, best game i played on this site so far :)
