Ah okay.. I think maybe only one ending is currently supported?

I played through the first game, and even saved it on the "you've reached x ending" page just to be safe. The first game recognizes my old saves, but the new one does not. Is there some magic formula for getting the new game to find the old saves?
I don't know if it makes a difference, but all of my saved games were at least partially played in version 0.8 or before. Do I maybe need to play through the finished version from scratch first? Or could it be a matter of using a directory the new game recognizes?
