YOU'RE CHARACTER IS SO ON THEME WE LOVE IT!! Yes, more fish market is def in the works currently so please stay tuned! We're so glad you loved the game especially the visuals! Our artist @Ewpossum said they love you too and thank you for all the kind words! :)

Hi! I was finally able to get back home to my computer and take a deeper look at this issue since the game should run perfectly fine on Windows 11. I found that there are some UI problems with the game where everything runs perfectly on a full HD screen (1920 x 1080) but then when it comes to other screen sizes UI errors, such as the first customer not appearing and the dialogue box not disappearing, began to occur! Basically, what I'm getting at is its most likely the monitor you're playing the game on that's not allowing the game to run properly!

But do not worry! I'm currently working on fixing this so that it can be played on any screen size! Just wanted to reach back out now that I found the source of the bug! Thank you so much for your detailed response I wouldn't want this to be an obstacle to anyone's gaming experience! :)

Hey! Thank you so much for wanting to play our game and I’m so sorry you’ve encountered such bugs! This is my first time hearing about someone having such issues with the game so I’d really love to get a bit more info to help figure out what’s going on 🧐 Can I ask what platform you’re playing on and what’s your setup like? Ideally, this game was made to run on Windows OS 10 and at fullscreen with an aspect ratio of about 16:10 with a mouse as the input buttons!

Thanks again for being interested in playing our game and giving a detailed report on the issue you encountered! Really appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will do my best to figure this out!

If not i would recommend just closing the application and re-opening it. Sometimes glitching like that happens that I haven’t gotten to the bottom of yet. Many apologies.

What!! Alright thank you for letting me know. Are you comfortable with me emailing the build?

Thank you so much!! Sorry for my late response we really appreciated your feedback of the game :) maybe its insomnia maybe the place is cursed who knows! Thank you again!

OH MY GOSH WHAT! THIS IS SO SICK?!? THANK YOU SO MUCH!! OH MY GOSH WOW!! CAN YOU PLEASE EMAIL THIS TO ME? IF I POST IT ANYWHERE, I PROMISE TO GIVE PROPER CREDITS BUT MOST OF ALL I JUST WANT IT FOR MYSELF AND MY SISTER BECAUSE THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!

Wow yes, I'm all hands-on board with this! Please send me an email to the one I have on my profile so we can converse!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, it's definitely short! It's just a mini playable thing that resulted from my first time diving into unity with the goal of making a simple gameplay loop on my own!  It was very difficult to learn while doing, but I can't wait to apply what I learned here in future projects! Thanks for tuning in! :)

WOW thank you so much!! YES, I WAS SUPER SUPRISED TO SEE MANLYBADASSHERO PLAY OUR GAME!! My sister and I are just starting to break into and learn more about the game dev world, so it really was an honor to have our first game acknowledged like this!!

With the recent positive response to the game, we definitely want to expand upon this game to make it a longer, polished and more fulfilling experience! It's great to have your support already thank you so much for your feedback and compliments!!

This was beyond impressive. I actually jumped when I heard the can dropped and felt even more scared on my second playthrough and seeing the cat tweak out! This is a really really solid horror game it had subliminal backroom vibes and the cat speaking was incredibly unexpected! The mini puzzles too! The need to look around the environment was perfectly instilled as I couldn't help but make sure I look through every crevice! I did experience one bug after my first playthrough in receiving the bad ending when walking out and answer to the cat at the door was my screen being stuck on the credits page with no way to restart or go back to the main menu or quit the game! Additionally, I have two comments on the gameplay! I think a sensitivity component would be perfect for the player to adjust as it required a lot just to turn around which was a bit annoying! Also when it came to the maze, it was incredibly dark and made it really difficult to see where there were openings in the ground that you had to jump over! This remained an issue even when I went back increasing my computer's brightness! Besides those two critiques this game was incredibly fun! You guys did a great job in making a very authentic cosmetic horror take on parasitism! I couldn't help but apply the concept to the actual known cat parasite, Toxoplasma gondii! Also really enjoyed the design choice of when you enter the dreamscape the world is mirrored! Great entry really enjoyable mini horror experience!!

Your storytelling skills are incredibly strong. I didn't need visuals at all to feel anxious and to become aware of situation we were in! It was so narrative just having a visual of the brain splayed out and exposed with the sudden appearance of the parasite and audio was enough to build scenes in my head! I felt so upset when I knew I gave the parasite exactly what it wanted when I met with my pack, more hosts, an opportunity to spread that I just had to play again to prevent it from happening!! While yes, I was saddened to be killed by the hunter but can't help but feel this was the best-case scenario especially in a body that we would no longer have autonomy over when given the time! I really really loved your mechanics! They were so unique!! The rolling of dice to determine the next course of action and its success was genius! My only critique is that I was little confused on how getting more holes in certain sections benefitted us as I noticed it raised stats for that certain skill. Did it increase our percentage of success and I didn't catch on? Regardless, it didn't affect the experience of the gameplay at all just something to get clarification on! Just like any roguelite you just need to keep replaying till you just get the formula!! Which you accomplished greatly!! Incredible entry!! I'm so glad to have had a chance to play it!! This is 100% one of my top 3!

WOW!! I PLAYED THIS GAME NUMEROUS TIMES ITS SO FUN!!! I'm grateful for the trouble you went through to send it out! Sorry for those difficulties on my end btw! Besides that, I'm just beyond amazed on how you accomplished a MINI ROGUELITE for this game jam! And the fisheye effect, the visuals, audio AND AN IMPLEMENTED CURRENCY SYSTEM?!?! THATS INCREDIBLE!!! This really blew my mind away and its incredibly fun! Can't get past the red laser but that's definitely just a gamer skill issue on my end lol! Incredible game I could 100% see this on mobile! Really well done it's so polished it's a legitimate finished game!

huh...how strange! This might be a firewall or windows security error. I'll take a deeper look into this thank you for letting me know! Would you like me to resent the zip file independently through email? If not, we plan to make a play-in browser version of the game or just something more suitable for downloading without the need for extraction if you prefer to wait for the game's update instead!

Dude this was amazing. A lot of fun and even sometimes frustrating but fun!! It really does remind me of Chilla's art games in terms of the environment, characters, and ambiance. It had a really enjoyable anomaly factor to it as well like "I am Not Human" which is a game approach I have been really enjoying these days. I really like the pacing of the game too with the new tools we could use to identify the patient and with the shortened time that forced me to stay focused. It's frustrating though because you start to overthink about everything which I bet is what you were trying to accomplish with this game, which you very much achieved from me and my sister! For just two weeks, this a really fleshed out well done game , I could see this being a streamer favorite and I def would recommend even sending it out for them to play. This might be my favorite game so far within this jam!

WOW! I really really enjoyed this concept! I think it's rarely seen where the doctor that's meant to be curing the infection would be someone who is fighting the parasite within themselves throughout it! The art was incredible; the method used for storytelling where the cases were just enough to tell you that something was going on bigger than your character was really REALLY well done! This is definitely my favorite submission by far! With some building upon and more alternative endings and distinctive or pivotal events this game could easily become as big as something like Papers Please! Really well done had tons of fun playing!

Hi! Sorry for some reason I couldn't find it. Would you be able to send it to my email? Sorry for the trouble!

Bro nice job with this game. Short, grotesque, and obsessive. Me and my sister played it multiple times to see if there was a trick for it sometimes fast and snappy worked and sometimes slow and steady.  I feel like you could flesh this game out further just for the fun of it and because it's a pretty niche idea. Love it, can't wait for more!

Love the parasite concept behind this, it was a very unique take on it. The pacing of the game was pretty good too, the timer like aspect is what really kept you on your toes throughout the game. If anything, I would love to have a more exciting ending instead of just the sudden "you lost" or "you escaped", maybe a small written snippet of what happened after if we were to stay or go.  The quick ending to the game is really the only thing that threw me off. Overall, a really good game, it was pretty fun, and I love the tone of the environment.  Really impressed with how much you got done in just two weeks, I'm amazed.

This game was really REALLY solid. My sister and I started it up and we audibly gasped with the graphics! Additionally, the game is super straightforward! I really enjoyed the subtleness of your character ending up being infected then being left with the choice of choosing to leave or not with the young girl! The only critiques I have was that I wished the audio was a tad louder! Additionally, on our first run we got stuck in the corner where you interact with girl due to standing too close to her and had to restart the game. Not even jumping worked she had us trapped fr fr. Also was a bit confused on how we picked up a flashlight but didn't have the chance to use it or access it, leaving us with our little lighter. The horror factor wasn't really there either, but the atmosphere easily carried that factor making you super uneasy! Super amazing entry!!!

I really like how even though the game was mainly reading, the dialogue and descriptions were really well written. Not complex and easy to follow while still being immersive.  If anything, I'm just curious about the twink with the beanie and the possible ending with him. I also love how the game always starts different. Oh and just a bug i noticed, i think the prophet was supposed to appear the second day but I'm not so sure.  Overall, a really good game! I love how the parasite outbreak started, haven't seen anything like that before!

You should def do the “continue working” ending that was especially enjoyable to make and has the most analog horror factor to it! >:) Thank you!!

Yes it was definitely a firewall issue 😭😔 Thx again!

Thank you so much! The comments seem so positive under ur game and the screenshot look amazing!!! I can’t wait to check it out thank you so much!

Hi! I don't know why but I'm experiencing difficulty in downloading this game on the PC :(

No not at all! Both me and my sister jumped especially since we had our volume all the way up!

Hi! Just a heads up this is NOT malware of any sort! If you’re playing on PC, Windows Defender will give you a warning when running the game for the first time! This is expected for unsigned indie games and does NOT mean that the game is harmful! It happens because Windows doesn’t recognize the software yet!!

1. Click "More info" (this reveals the Run anyway button)

2. Click "Run anyway"

3. Game starts!

The game was pretty fun, I actually enjoyed the open world aspect with a lack of instruction, because let's be honest, in this scenario we have no idea what we would do other than to see what we can find to survive.  However, I didn't know I could interact with objects up until I start mashing different interact buttons so it would have been nice to know to press E in-game for a smoother run. I also would really think some more in-character dialogue would have made it more immersive in addition to the papers you find around the game.  Overall, pretty good game for the two weeks!

The game has potential to be a fun short horror game to play for a quick jump scare but nothing really more than that. The game lacks narrative and story which could have made the game more niche rather than just a one and done moment of loud noise.  I also faced difficulty running away from the guy, but I understand you were trying to achieve a quick snappy horror element throughout the game, I'm just a bad gamer lol. All in all, good job, the audio really got me.

Hi! I just rated this game; however, I did rate on the lower end. But please do not take this score personally! This is just my impression of the game based on the categories that were listed!

From a more holistic view...THIS IS REALLY IMPRESSIVE! Especially to tackle something like this after work you've done a great job. Since I'm just learning how to make games the fact you were able to make a mini 2D platformer within TWO WEEKS! Is astounding! It took me a whole MONTH just to understand sprites and connecting movement to input keys!

From what I see, this is definitely a raw skeleton you have here that can be improved upon greatly. Especially with its strong build up in the intro - you have incredible storytelling skills. Don't give up on this! Go towards what you imagined for it!

A bug I encountered, or if that's the whole game, was that the E interaction with the bedroom door wasn't working after getting the key! Another would be the audio; it doesn't play in the background only when the character is moving. Additionally, when it came to the text sometimes the dialogue would stay stuck on the button and after a couple of clicks it would switch to the next line when triggered by an object interaction.

That's all! Best of luck!

THANK GOD!

Hi! I'm not french or a french speaker. Is it okay to still be apart of this jam?
